Testing Finnish Civil War (2017), developed by Brian Train and published by Compass Games in Paper Wars magazine. Interesting design, in where White side need to fight a war and develop army, while Red side try to gain enough momentum to keep fighting until the bitter end. #boardwargames

Participated in the Baltic Wargaming Convention in Helsinki. Was interesting to try out several early modern wargames, including the brand new Baltic Empires (GMT), Time of Troubles (still under development) and the Great Northern Wars system. Looking forward to getting my hands on these!

I would be very interested to hear more from this solution. I have neary 20 magazine games and at the moment my solution is based on "pizza boxes" (see attached pictures). Works ok, but takes more space than I would like to.

Playing Polar Storm (2024) #wargame on Autumn 1944 Soviet operation against Germans in what is now border region between Norway and Russia (used to be part of Finland). Game is from Swedish 3CG and we are playing at VASSAL. Screenshot is from turn 3. So far working well.

Hey look what I just got! I’ve heard lots of nice things about Battlegroup Clash from one of its playtesters. Who I know is also pretty knowledgeable about the topic it simulates. AFAIK this is the commercial version of a game the British Army uses. #wargaming
