It’s because everyone tried to go to the alternatives, had a bad time, and went back to Discord. The alternatives haven’t meaningfully matured in the last 6 months, so the options now are the devil you know v. a struggle to get people to switch to a worse platform.

Discord finally confirmed for real when they're rolling out age verification service-wide (tomorrow) and I've not seen a single person make a peep about it
