here's hoping nothing got fried when I tried turning it on again, thinking it was a fault unrelated to the power supply it made a horrific screeching noise before I quickly turned it off

I should've figured something was up even four years ago, when my old motherboard started randomly resetting on its own after I installed a higher end CPU doubly so, when the funny quirk with one of my hard drives randomly not being detected also transferred over to my new motherboard
