My idea of a perfect vocal mix is 7th Time on the original 1985 Clan of Xymox vinyl, and that's why I fail. It's not bright, you can barely make out the lyrics sometimes. Lots of dark reverb. I absolutely love it. It's not badly engineered, that's John Fryer at Blackwing Studios. It's not modern.

I regret a little not inviting remixers for Id Ova. I love remixers. They translate headphone music to the hostile realities of dance floor sound systems, while adding excitement and night out energy. Freeing me up to just make songs.

Maybe I'll reinvent my music as "popular". Not pop, anyone can do pop. I should like to make music that is well received and purchased by individuals who enjoy that sort of thing. If I could just find the right plugin.

If you don't have songs on Bandcamp you might not know that the stats graph can also form the hills in the background for the arcade game Defender, playable in the browser on your stats page. Whenever you listen to my music you make my Defender game more interesting. Thank you!

We wouldn't need Soothe if we weren't trying to compress the hell out of everything and reach high LUFS at any cost. A good mix at a good DR sounds good just turned up before any shaping and limiting. I know, shut up Gabi. Come join us here in 2026.

The Craft 1st Draft ... Snake Guy: Stop, I'm trying to tell you something! Sarah: What? SG: Your mom was a witch and so are you. Your friend Nancy is a bit volatile right now so be careful. Sarah: Thanks! SG: My pleasure! fin

My genre is high priestess. Hi fi priestess. Lo fi priestess. Entucore. Riding the ninth waveform. Inhaling the volcanic fumes of supersaws on a chariot of dmx drums, to deliver my oracular vision. It's a group ritual, no wallflowers. Come and join me. *be one of us* *one of us* *of us* *us*

No shade, because I do this too, but it's amazing how much we look to experts regarding what gear or plugins WE ACTUALLY OWN AND HAVE HEARD WITH OUR OWN EARS sound like. I am not saying there's no value in a second opinion, but you have to believe yourself eventually.

The Republican stance on women, transgender folks, gay marriage, etc. will be its undoing. I hope it becomes widely obvious. It's pretty stupid. You know, fiscal conservatism is not my thing, but it's at least philosophically defensible. Why not do that?
