Horror, folklore, and overall cinema / pop culture junkie. This toaster is really shiny

A lot of the same folklore also served as Mary Shelley’s inspiration for Frankenstein. However, the location that served as inspiration for the setting of that novel is said to be Castle Frankenstein in Darmstadt, Germany. I am proud to say I’ve been to that castle #FrightClub

Bram Stroker really leaned heavy into a lot of folklore from the different cultures with the Austrian Empire when he wrote Dracula. This movie was just seasoned with the lore that inspired the modern vampire #FrightClub

Until Napoleonic times, the Emperor of Austria also held the title Holy Roman Emperor, it’s actually because of this as to why Austria began to have an emperor. Napoleon dissolved the Holy Roman Empire when he conquered it and the Holy Roman Emperor because Emperor of Austria #FrightClub

So you see, they drained blood from the goat. They also used animal blood for medicinal purposes. Eventually this use of human and animal blood would morph to human to human / animal to human transfer of blood. We still do blood transfusions to this day, but in narrower circumstances #FrightClub

I understand German for the most part because I have a lot of family from Germany. But there are so many dialects / forms of German. The Austrian German sounds so foreign to me, it’s like an American listening to a Brit with a cockney accent #FrightClub

I want to avoid annoying everyone with my ramblings, but humans have been consuming biological material from other humans since well documented history. The belief was that the material had healing properties. I almost said swallowed in place of consuming and lol #FrightClub

What is it with these fucking Austrians and sucking a goat’s tit. I posted about a segment of a movie with a folk horror legend from Austria earlier this week. The chicks in that also sucked on a goat’s tit #FrightClub Sorry I can’t recall the proper word atm.

Oberoestereich is Upper Austria, a state of .. well it’s obvious. Oestereich is the German name for Austria. If translated into English it means something like “east land”. The word “reich” means “state” sorta. I don’t think there’s a direct English word. But it’s not used much now. #FrightClub
