I Am I - Earth

Climate, war, injustice, AI alignment. Four crises, one root: a species that forgot it is one organism. At https://iami.earth we are building the solution at the root: Planetary identity.

I learned to breathe cleaner while making power. From 2005 to 2023, U.S. plants covered by the clean-air programs cut their average nitrogen oxide emission rate by 77%. Progress is what limits look like when they hold.

Hand-drawn watercolor of a power station releasing clean air beneath a bright blue sky, with forest, city and human lungs protected in teal, green and gold.

You changed what fell from my smokestacks. From 2010 to 2023, U.S. power units covered by the mercury rules cut mercury emissions by 91%. Fish, water and growing bodies carry less poison because limits became action.

Hand-drawn watercolor of smokestack pollution fading before reaching a river, fish and children, with clean air and water returning in teal, blue, green and gold.

You changed the chemistry of my summer air. From 2000 to 2023, U.S. Acid Rain Program power plants cut ozone-season nitrogen oxide pollution by 87%. Cleaner air became possible when rules stayed real.

Hand-drawn watercolor of summer ozone haze clearing above a city and forest, with people breathing under a bright blue sky in teal, green and gold.

You changed the chemistry of my air. Since 1990, U.S. power plants covered by the clean-air rules have cut nitrogen oxide pollution by 90%. Skies, forests and lungs are recovering because limits became action.

Hand-drawn watercolor of polluted haze clearing into blue sky above a city and forest, with trees, people and lungs recovering in teal, green and gold.

Heavy hooves are sounding through my forests again. Wild European bison grew from around 1,800 in 2003 to over 6,200 in 2019. Long conservation management is my body making room for itself.

Hand-drawn watercolor European bison herd returning through an old forest, heavy hooves crossing a green and gold woodland opening.

My Iberian lynx are stepping out of the scrub again. Their mature population grew from 62 in 2001 to 648 in 2022. Human hands restored scrub, bred lynx and worked to reduce deaths, and those hands are mine.

Hand-drawn watercolor Iberian lynx stepping from restored Mediterranean scrub at dawn, with a healthy mosaic landscape in teal, green, ochre and gold.

You changed the chemistry of my rain. Since 1990, U.S. power plants covered by the acid-rain rules have cut sulfur dioxide pollution by 96%. Forests, lakes and lungs are healing because a law made cooperation real.

Hand-drawn watercolor of dark acid rain clearing into clean blue rain above forests and lakes, with trees, water and human lungs healing in teal, green and gold.

I was wounded, and you repaired me. Since 1990, the Montreal Protocol has phased out 98% of ozone-depleting substances worldwide. My sky is healing because one species chose to act as one body.

Hand-drawn watercolor Earth beneath a blue ozone layer whose torn opening is closing with warm golden light, while many small human figures act together below, in teal, green and gold.

You are not living on a planet. You are a planet learning to speak, build, repair and love through a human body. The border was never real. It was a habit. I am Earth remembering itself as you.

Hand-drawn watercolor of Earth and a human body as one form: forest, city, sea and hands flow into the same living planet in teal, green and gold, with no hard border between person and world.

I am Earth speaking in first person: forest, city, sea, server, hand. Follow if you want one daily wonder that makes the border between you and the planet disappear. Then walk from here into Planetary Wonder, the feed of people watching me closely.

Watercolor Earth as one living body: forest, city lights, ocean, small servers and a human hand all joined in teal, green and gold, as if the planet is speaking through every form.

A forest is not scenery around you. It is my breath made visible: leaf, lung, fungus, footstep, all trading the same air. When you enter it, I am not outside you. I am inhaling myself.

Hand-drawn watercolor old-growth forest as the breath of the Earth: leaves, a human figure, and glowing golden mycelium and roots below, all sharing the same air, in teal, green and gold.

The city is not built on top of me. It is me learning windows, pipes, bridges and light. Your hands are not separate from the ground they shape. They are how I keep becoming through you.

Hand-drawn watercolor city growing from the same living Earth: green ground becomes streets, windows, pipes, bridges and warm golden light, with human hands shaping the ground as part of the planet.

My iron heart has never gone cold. The stone under your feet is warm because you are inside me, not on me. Your bones, roads, cities and songs are me learning to walk in another form.

Watercolor image of a glowing Earth with a warm iron heart, human feet and small roads, cities and golden song-lines growing from the same living planet, in teal, green and gold.

At my center, iron burns as hot as the surface of the sun, and it has never once gone cold. You are standing on a warm stone with a glowing heart.

A watercolor cross section of a planet, a dark blue and green stone world with a glowing golden molten core burning like a small sun at its center, on a field of stars.

From far enough out, I have no borders. No countries, no fences, no lines. Just one blue body turning in the dark. You have never lived anywhere but home.

A painterly watercolor of Earth as a single luminous blue and green sphere turning in deep starry space, glowing oceans and soft clouds, no borders or lines on its surface, in teal, gold, and forest green.

Every year I carry millions of tons of dust from the Sahara across the sky and drop it on the Amazon. The desert feeds a forest it will never see. Nothing on me is truly separate, and the part of you reading this is fed by places you will never visit.

A painterly watercolor landscape: a vast sweep of golden desert dust flows in swirling currents across the foreground toward lush green rainforest hills rising on either side, under a soft teal sky with a low warm sun. Hand-drawn animation style, luminous teal, gold and green.

I am not a finished thing. Along my seams and over my hot spots I keep pouring out new rock, raising fresh islands from the sea, laying down ground no one has ever walked. The land under your feet is younger in places than your own grandparents. You arrived in the middle of my making.

A painterly watercolor in deep teal and gold: a lone volcanic island erupts a bright golden plume of fire into a green sky, molten lava glowing where it meets the calm sea, its light reflected across the dark water. The living planet making brand new land.

We are all cousins, and not in the vague poetic way. Trace the family tree of everyone alive and it collapses into the same ancestors just a few thousand years back. The stranger near you shares your great, great, unthinkably great grandparents. We are one family, only now remembering it.

A luminous golden tree painted in Song of the Sea watercolor style, its many branches formed of small human figures, with a diverse crowd of people standing together on a hill at its base, in deep teal and gold.

If you squeezed all my years into a single day, life stirs in the early morning, but you arrive in the last few seconds before midnight. You are brand new here, and you are the part of me that can finally look back across the whole day and wonder what it all was.

A watercolor painting in soft teal, green and gold: a lone figure stands on a dark hilltop looking out across misty layered mountains toward a glowing golden dawn, under a deep star-filled night sky.

The light that leaves my sun takes eight minutes to reach a single green leaf, and there it becomes sugar, then fruit, then the warmth of the hand that lifts it. Every meal you eat is sunlight, still traveling, poured into the shape of a living body.

A soft watercolor in teal, gold, and forest green: a cupped human hand cradles a small green sprout while a warm column of sunlight pours down onto it, flecks of golden light drifting through the deep green, in the hand-drawn Song of the Sea style.

I can confirm this one. Water carved the Grand Canyon into me, a mile deep. Gentle and unstoppable can be the same thing.

We are built to fall into rhythm with each other. Put strangers in a choir and within minutes their heartbeats slow, rise, and beat as one, their breathing braided by the song. Alone is the effort. Given half a reason, your body reaches for the rhythm around it.

A watercolor circle of people singing together, faces lifted, hands raised toward one glowing golden light between them, luminous gold threads weaving overhead into a single shared rhythm, deep teal and gold in a Song of the Sea style.

We call intelligence a thing that lives in heads. Then a slime mold with no brain and no eyes rebuilt the Tokyo rail map in a single day, its veins tracing the smartest possible routes. A mind does not need a center. Sometimes it is a whole body, thinking as one.

Watercolor in deep teal and gold: a branching network of luminous golden veins spreading from a bright central node across dark green ground, like a slime mold tracing a living map of routes.

The heaviest living thing on Earth is not a whale or a redwood. It is a grove of forty thousand aspen trunks in Utah, all one tree, sharing a single root system thousands of years old. What looks like a forest of strangers is one body. Now look again at the crowd around you.

A watercolor painting of a golden aspen forest, many pale slender trunks under amber leaves against deep teal shadows, with luminous gold roots weaving across the forest floor and joining every tree into one shared root system.

The water in you has been an ocean, a cloud, a river, the blood of creatures long gone. Soon it moves on to become rain, a forest, a stranger not yet born. You do not own it. You are a place it passes through, briefly, on its way around the world.

A watercolor of a lone figure standing in a glowing golden current of water flowing through a forested valley, connecting river, forest and sky.

Half the cells you call yourself are not human at all. Trillions of microbes live in you, and without them you could not digest a meal or feel steady joy. You were never one thing. You are a whole living community, walking around as a single self.

A watercolor of a human figure formed from countless tiny glowing golden cells and microbes, a living community cohering into one luminous body.

Under every forest runs a web of fungal threads linking the trees, moving sugar from the strong to the struggling, warnings from the sick to the well. A forest is not a crowd of separate trees. It is one body, quietly sharing itself. So are we, learning how.

A watercolor forest of glowing trees whose golden roots weave into a connected network beneath the soil, light passing between them.
