Watching the morning news…… I’ve had to mute the TV volume - a water company spokesperson stating investment is required to fix our water problems - and they’re the people to do that.

So today I installed Omarchy on my Thinkpad. Maybe I’m mad. Previously I was running Ubuntu and I just found it ….. meh. I also have a Mac and I just found Ubuntu was never really as good as the Mac. So I thought - let’s try something really different. Fingers crossed….. #omarchy

So the Thinkpad T490 (32gb/1tb) arrived with Win 11 Pro installed. I’ve installed Ubuntu 25 (dual boot) all setup with for Ruby dev in about half a day. My only gripes would be the speakers sounding terrible and a trackpoint that just is not recognised. Otherwise the machine is really great.

Today I took a Hidden London tour of Holborn tube station. Super interesting and totally worth the 70-80 minutes, so much so I’m hoping to do the Dover Street hidden tour soon. Visit the London Transport museum website for more info. #hiddenlondon

I thought I might start an irregular post series called Shite AI. #1. The loose fruit/veg scales in my local supermarket now have an AI camera attached in order to automatically determine which produce is being weighed. Weighing produce now takes 2 to 3 times longer. Thanks AI. #shite-ai
