It’s disgusting for the Conservatives to ask Jewish groups to meet their ex-neo-Nazi candidate, presumably in the hope he will charm them and they’ll offer their blessing. They should not expect Jewish people to sanitise this appalling choice. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Totally nuts. There are good reasons why ‘social value’ is added to government contracts; so removing it begs the question what replaces it? And are we back to the government pushing what it sees as ‘industrial roles’ or STEM jobs? It feels as if we keep stepping back to 1970s model of employment!

I had the pleasure of meeting Joan on a few occasions when she came along on our weekly #WellbeingWalk around Barrow Park. She’d lead such a wonderful life, including being evacuated to Canada during the early part of the Second World War. I loved chatting to her, she will be sadly missed.

In Memory of Joan Milburn

Everyone at VSBD is saddened to hear of the passing of our President, and life-long supporter, service-user and friend, Joan Milburn.

Joan was a tireless advocate for the VI community, a source of knowledge and wisdom to staff, volunteers and service-users alike, and will be sorely missed. Everyone at VSBD has their own, very fond, memories of Joan, and we are all better for having known her.

The thoughts of all of us are with Joan's family and friends at this difficult time.
