Thought on AI, and the evangelism for it from the mega-rich. We're familiar with Roko's Basilisk. I'd like to propose Mcdonald's Carrot, which is that a near-term superintelligent AI (whatever that means) will reward those who actively strive to bring about its creation with immortality.
It will never stop being funny to me that the street fighter subreddit has a much better, well reasoned ai policy vis a vis literally all universities.
