Steam Effort. Good to see the Wee County's fog factories at 100% production this morning, sending the moody mist along the hillfoots to wrap the iconic landmarks of Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle in some atmospherics. Hopefully a few were closer than I was too. 📷 #DronePhotography #Autumn

An atmospheric drone photo under a clear blue sky taken in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. Looking over the Forth Valley as early morning autumn mists and fog drift along the hillfoots and over the city of Stirling. The food ingredients factory in Menstrie looks to be venting steam and causing the blanket of mist to form and flow along the valley floor. Nice team effort between the two counties to set up the moody morning view and wrap the iconic and historic Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle in a blanket of white.

Fake! You plan for these shots, recce out the location, test, then wait. And when it works out, you edit and try to recreate the vibe you experienced. And still, you get the keyboard wallopers shouting "Fake!", "Poor effort!", "Impossible". TBF, folk that probably don't get out much. 🤦‍♂️ #Stirling

A bright yellow, near full 'Harvest Moon' (99% waning) sits perfectly aligned with the muliti-spired architectural viewing platform feature crown of the Wallace Monument in Stirling, Scotland. The warm coloured brick structure contrasts with the deep blue twilight sky as it sits proud of the trees and foliage on the hills that it sits, with autumnal colours creeping in.

The trees and foliage on the Abbey Craig hill that the monument sits show signs of autumnal colours creeping in.

Date: Sep 27, 2026All the planning almost scuppered as some dense clouds waft past between the moon and the monument, teasing to see if it would hit the intended spot in the sky or disappear completely. Fingers all crossed here.🤞

A gurning loon here, but chuffed to chat to a photographic master - Fabrizio Gianni. Illustrious beginning as assistant director to Sergio Leone on "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" no less, and now living a quiet life in Scotland. Great night at the opening of his exhibition in #Stirling

The opening of a Fabrizio Gianni's photography exhibition at the Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling, Scotland, as part of another fantastic Stirling Photography Festival. A photograph of myself holding a signed poster promoting the exhibition and standing next to Fabrizio bringing a touch of Mediterranean pizzaz to Stirling in a blue blazer and dark shades. Some of his photographs - of Gary Oldman and Keanu Reeves hang on the wall behind.

All time favourite, next to the “Life of Brian” of course. That final scene was filmed a few miles along the road, on the Ochil Hills above Stirling University. Think most of the extras were students from there, probably for free, but now part of a comic masterpiece.

Released #OTD in 1975 #filmsky Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Genesis all contributed to this movie's budget. This movie's abrupt ending came about because it didn't have the budget for a large-scale battle sequence. Elvis Presley was especially fond of this film, which he watched about 50 times

Been on a bit of a mission to catch the last of winter hanging on to this view of Ben Lomond over Stirling. With the temperature rising and the trees sprouting foliage, the view up river to Stirling is going to take on a different aspect in the days and weeks ahead. #LandscapePhotography

A long zoom lens view from Alloa and up river to Stirling. Taken early morning in 'golden hour' the view shows the abandoned munitions warehouses at 'Bandeath' before giving way to the city buildings and the ancient and commanding Stirling Castle. Miles beyond, the munro mountain of Ben Lomond frames the outline of the castle with its retreating snow covered summit against a bright blue spring sky.
