Okay, so when ICE rolled through Charlotte, a central point of resistance was Manolo's bakery. This was where people came to organize, protest, and eat churros. Manolo Betancur, the owner, has long been an outspoken advocate for the immigrant community in East Charlotte.

I think my problem with Camp Miasma is that my expectations were _so high_ after I Saw the TV Glow that nothing was ever going to meet them. It just felt very trivial in comparison. Miasma has its merits, but I feel like TV Glow probably saved someone's life, you know? That's a hard act to follow.

I saw The Death of Robin Hood yesterday, and I just want to say it wasn't surprisingly to see Robin Hood and Little John turned into villains, especially when one of the executive producers is listed as "The Sheriff of Nottingham."

I understand _why_ this works this way, but is there an option to readd the "I understand the SSL cert is fucked up in some dumb little way, but it's highly unlikely this site is actually compromised to the point where I shouldn't even view it, load it anyway" button?

John Oliver just did an episode about the destruction of New College, and I have to say, he made it look like goofy conservatives doing goofy conservative things and not an absolute fascist nightmare. If you ever get a chance to see First They Came For My College, you should, I promise you.

On the way home from SXSW! Had a ton of fun in Austin, and at the Cookie Queens screenings. Got to see First They Came For My College, and it broke my heart in half. Absolutely required viewing for understanding how fascism devours, and who it digests.
