Friends have noticed me saying nice things about myself and my art a little bit of late, and it embarrasses me lol, like I've done something wrong. It feels really unnatural to think anything positive about myself, but I guess somewhere in my mind, I'm starting to. Healing feels weird.

I really loved that phanpare image of Geto 🥺 Once again, I know I’m not doing it justice but I like acting on things that inspire me... - Watercolour on 300gsm cold-pressed cotton paper - Gel pen (white), silver ink & silver foil for highlights

We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.

this wip wednesday I bring you a snippet of the next chapter of a certain kind of light 🌠✨ this was one of the very first scenes that I wrote for this fic, but it's seen many versions since

The kitchen smelled like spices, concentrated in a way that seemed catered to, as opposed to the multitude of smells of different intensities of the street market Suguru had acquired them from. He’d moved through the baskets in the stall, ignoring his nose and relying on touch more than anything else to make his way around. He’d gone for spices that needed to be restocked, but also decided on the spot that he would do something different tonight.
Something sweet for Satoru. A special treat after some time apart, much like he did to Nanako and Mimiko, to Shoko, to Nanami and Haibara.
Satoru helped him put the new purchases away and Suguru felt something warm stir in his chest as he made his way around the kitchen knowingly, aware of where most things went. It didn’t go unnoticed how he had restocked the logs for the fire, or the fresh berries and flowers on the table.
Suguru focused on the sugar melting at the bottom of the pot, added anise, cloves, cinnamon and watched the syrupy liquid bubbling around them. Satoru sat at the table, running his fingers through the thin, silky piece of fabric he’d pulled out of a paper package.
“That one’s for you,” Suguru said without looking back at him.
He felt Satoru’s eyes on the back of his neck, prickling comfortably. “Oh?” came the surprised tone. “For me?” he asked.
His voice was deep, usually, not necessarily low, but it would tilt like a spark of glittering light whenever he was surprised or amused. It sounded like both right then, Suguru thought.
When he finally looked, Suguru caught the way Satoru’s cheeks glowed in the dim light. There were more candles lit today, making it a bit brighter than usual, but his light was still different enough to contrast, brighter than even the moonlight coming in through the door that was still open. Suguru thought then if this was what Satoru looked like when he was flustered. He recalled other times it had happened — when he looked at him a bit too long or when he caught him looking, that time they were by the river and he’d taken his clothes off, whenever he was surprised.
The warm thing moved again in Suguru’s chest, purring happily.
“It’s softer,” he said nonchalantly, biting back the smile that threatened to curl his lips. “Lighter, for the summer.”

I'm currently saving up to try and remove myself from a really bad living situation. In light of that, I'm looking at any way to raise funds to make this possible! If there's anything anyone might want to take a look at, I've started a thread with my links below:
