No one should have to learn their dad was killed by state forces on Facebook. ICE wields unchecked power to violently and brutally rip apart families and destroy lives. Our system is built to do this. And that means it cannot continue. Repro justice demands that we #AbolishICE.

Today, July 1, two state laws are going into effect that target medication abortion. These attack one of the most accessible abortion options post-Dobbs for people living in restricted states, who cannot travel, or for whatever reason want a medication abortion.

Every day we see another effort to deny trans people control over their own bodies, identities, and lives. It's the same playbook for banning abortion and policing pregnant people. We will continue to fight for the freedom of all of us to be ourselves without fear or political interference.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court ruled that states can ban transgender girls from school sports. This is a devastating ruling for trans students across the country who simply want the freedom to play with their friends.

It's going to end up being a surveillance state that requires severe privacy risks for girls to participate in sports going forward including invasive genetic testing and physical examinations.

A pressing question now is how sports officials will determine if competitors are girls and women, as defined by the opinion. While gender verification testing — a long-vilified and intrusive practice — has resumed at the Olympic level, how will grade schools, middle schools and high schools conduct those tests? And will everyone be tested, or just the athletes who draw suspicion?

NEW: In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that state laws barring transgender girls from participating on school sports teams that align with their gender identity do not violate the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court in a 6-3 vote UPHOLDS birthright citizenship, affirming the default rule that all persons born in the United States (with narrow exceptions) are U.S. citizens at birth. A total LOSS for President Trump and the effort to rewrite the 14th Amendment.

Held: Children born in the United States to parents unlawfully or temporarily present are “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States
and are citizens at birth under the Fourteenth Amendment’s Citizenship Clause.

Justice Sotomayor is reading from her partial dissent, in which she is joined by Justices Kagan and Jackson. It is a partial dissent because they would have sent the case back for further factual development on the equal protection claim. They agree the laws do not violate Title IX.
