Delightful human being

Part of the shame of Berman stamping on Robinson's portrayal of Garak is that "guy expelled from a fascist society that fetishizes the traditional family, and for reasons everyone involved seems unwilling to talk about" is like 90% of the way to a queer story already.

There are like a hundred reasons why it's not hypocrisy to like Data (fictional character played by a charming actor) and not LLMs (chatbots that can usually manage drawing Garfield with boobs if you tweak the prompt enough times) but I do like the idea of getting so mad about it that you throw up

no one is actually afraid of AI taking our jobs 🤣 we're afraid of worker exploitation and environmental impact

Star Trek fans: Oh no they're discriminating against Data!
Star Trek fans: Destroy the clankers they're takin our jerbs!

I don't care who you are; I just get violently ill at hypocrisy.

Marriage is hearing your wife ask who's the Elliot who played Spider-Man and needing to intuit that she's mixing up Tobey Maguire and Elijah Wood and also mixing up the names Elliot and Elijah

Trying to look up some weed-killing solutions that won't also kill the neighborhood dogs, and finding a hundred Reddit posts where someone asks if salt water will work and some jag replies "oh so you don't want chemicals but you'll use sodium chloride, a chemical? Interesting."

Took my daughter to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Early in the movie Jon Bernthal calls Spider-Man "dumb dumb" in a way that made me imagine Dean Winters as The Punisher and I couldn't shake the image the whole movie. 5/5 stars.

WIFE: Who's Bucky Barnes? ME: How much backstory do you want? WIFE: Enough to know why this woman online has a crush on Bucky Barnes. ME: Sebastian Stan's character in Avengers movies. Handsome and brooding. WIFE: Thanks.

Do children actually stand in the corner when they're in trouble, or is that just an easy visual and non-abusive punishment for fiction to use? I genuinely don't know. My siblings and I never had to, and my kid doesn't. We got sent to our rooms a lot?

An ongoing drought has killed all the grass in my neighborhood, and somehow the weeds growing up between my driveway stones have only gotten stronger. They have evolved to live without water. I think one of them might be fucking around with an abacus.
