This Wednesday (1-6PM, Room 106A) at CVPR @cvprconference.bsky.social we have a great lineup of keynote speakers, posters, and spotlights on neural fields and beyond: neural-bcc.github.io Have a question you want answered by a panel of experts in the field? Send it to us via: tinyurl.com/bdddf36f

I'm having a lot of trouble locally running llama-2, any suggestions? They keep spitting and hissing at me whenever I try to chat with them, and using GPUs (grass processing units) isn't speeding up inference.

Let’s play a fun game called “who has better land use, silicon valley or literal Japanese farmland” Everything highlighted in purple is parking or an empty lot around San Jose Diridon:

Curious about how cities have changed in the past decade? We use MLLMs to analyse 40 million Street View images to answer this. Do you know that "'juice shops' became a thing in NYC" and "miles of overpasses were painted BLUE in SF"? More at→boyangdeng.com/visual-chronicles (vid ↓ w/ 🔊)

Getting absolutely no reviewer feedback on a fellowship app feels very unproductive (NSF MSPRF). With conference rejections I can at least encorporate reviewer feedback for the next submission, but with this NSF app it's like "was my outline bad? did the reviewers hate my font choices?" who knows.

We've extended the submission deadline by 2 weeks to April 25th! #CVPR2025 @cvprconference.bsky.social Link: neural-bcc.github.io#call4paper

Only a couple weeks left to submit a paper to Neural Fields Beyond Conventional Cameras at CVPR 2025! neural-bcc.github.io#call4paper Our *non-archival* workshop welcomes both previously published and novel work. A great opportunity to get project feedback and connect with other researchers!

If you see this, quote a game with a 10/10 soundtrack. I think Bastion and Transistor were my first obvious choices, but after thinking about it I think by just sheer amount of time I've listened to an OST it has to be Anno 1800. Perfect background music for coding, painting, and naval warfare.

If you see this, Quote a game with a 10/10 soundtrack. It was a super hard choice. I picked System Shock 2 because I would listen to it repeatedly despite never finishing the game (spent many hours in it, just too difficult). The contenders were Vampire: Bloodlines, Deus Ex, Arcanum, and Fallout 2.

It's wild watching the real economy slowly converging to the same behaviour as the crypto-NFT-memecoin economy. > someone tweeted something > stonks -150%

This might be a hot take, but I kind of wish @bsky.app allowed you to opt into more annoying notifications (?) Like how LinkedIn notifies me when one of my close colleagues made a post that I otherwise didn't see on my feed.

I'm always shocked by how much of American recreational activities are essentially just driving from a parking lot to a parking lot. What an incredible lakeside town center:

I feel like there's no good name for MLPs: - multi-layer perceptrons -> sounds like robots - fully-connected network -> you could definitely make them more connected - feed-forward network -> lots of networks are feed-forward - linear-layer-plus-activation-function-sandwich???
