I used to live in the U.S.A. Now I don't know where the Fuckistan I am.

Much of life is learning to overcome our worst human impulses, which seem to be gaining ground right now. Fortunately, nothing neutralizes them faster than love, empathy, compassion, and cooperation.

I was in Paris in December of 2008, right after Obama was elected the first time. There were posters around the city of Obama dressed as Superman. How far we’ve fallen since then.

How can someone who avoided military service be allowed to send other people’s children into war? No one who hasn’t experienced war firsthand should be in a position to start one. And no one should start a war unless they are willing to send their own children to fight in it.

Just want to point out that Alex Pretti’s last act was to come to the aid of another human being—something we typically ascribe to heroes, and to real men. That act seemed to enrage the shooter(s). Why?

ICE and CBP showing up in face masks and body armor. 9mm handguns. AR-15-style rifles. Pepper spray. Stun grenades. Protesters showing up with signs and whistles. Chants. Donuts. Handkerchiefs. Conviction. Each other. Who is the braver?
