Transcriptomic analysis of tissue-resident memory T cells of the fallopian tube reveals a precursor immune surveillance network for ovarian cancer prevention - Nature Communications
High-grade serous ovarian cancers (HGSC) are refractory to immunotherapy, and a comprehensive characterization of the immune landscape at these lesions is lacking. Here, the authors employ single-cell RNA and TCR sequencing of patient-derived tissues to characterize T cell clonality and differentiation during tumor evolution. Tissue-resident memory-like T cells in early lesions display tumor reactivity, exhibit reduced exhaustion, and are implicated in early immune surveillance, and could be leveraged for the design of immunomodulatory therapeutic approaches.
