Well done on this new paper by a team of researchers in our Division of Primary Care! 🎉 They compared combined email and paper vs. email-only feedback in promoting safer asthma prescribing at practices. Read here 👉https://bmjopenrespres.bmj.com/content/13/1/e003601

Led by Dr Owen Thomas, we answered a simple question on whether the ICB should continue posting paper feedback in addition to sending feedback by email on achievement in asthma guideline care and greener inhaler prescriptions 🫁 @au-primarycareuol.bsky.social

5 hrs 37m 29s and I can call myself a marathon finisher! Thank you for all the support, it’s been amazing. I even enjoyed most of it! I think my smile as I crossed the finish line says it all 😀
A final little run yesterday to collect my bib and spend money at the run expo! A few souvenirs may have been bought since this might* be my only attempt at a marathon. *tbd!
🏃➡️ My first Marathon is T-27! 🏃 On the 12th of April 😱 I will be taking on the Paris 🇫🇷marathon and raising money for the @samaritanscharity 💚. It’s such an important cause and I’m hoping to make a difference for those who need someone to reach out to at their lowest point.
Fantastic opening address from Dr Judith Safford on day 2 of @impact-swiss.bsky.social conference on why we should all ‘go wild’ and listen to patients for meaningful & impactful implementation science. #IMPACT2026
Dr Giulia Loffreda from @who.int calling for closer integration between policy, implementation and research in addressing non-communicative diseases (NCDs). Recommends extending embedded implementation research (IR) in health systems. #IMPACT2026 #ImpSci
Very happy to be in Zurich discussing new developments in implementation science. I will be sharing our ongoing work on the Impact of an Intervention on Inequalities in Overprescribing - the 3i-o study tomorrow. #IMPACT2026 #ImpSci @au-primarycareuol.bsky.social @wy-icb-research.bsky.social
🚀 We’re officially underway! The 4th Swiss Implementation Science Conference «True IMPACT – Delivering Innovation for Patients and the Public» has just opened at the @uzh-ch.bsky.social. We’re excited to kick off two days of exchange, learning and collaboration. #IMPACT2026 @rahelnaef.bsky.social
My longest, toughest run to date - the Craggrunner Moors the Merrier 2025 21 miles (35km - or 7 Parkruns), 1298m height gained (& lost), lots of mud & bogs, fabulous company, wonderful volunteers & organisers, Striders support and a thoroughly enjoyable day yomping across the moors in a Santa 🧑🎄 hat!
Fantastic work by Zoe Edwards & colleagues on the barriers & facilitators to primary care involvement in research. My thoughts on their helpful recommendations as both a primary care academic & practice research lead👇:
Thrilled that our survey on Barriers and Facilitators to primary care staff conducting research has been published. The largest facilitator was clear patient benefit and the largest barrier was the inability to fit in extra work in. See paper for recommendations journals.plos.org/plosone/arti...
New paper! 📣 Inappropriate prescribing is common in older adults which puts them at greater risk of adverse effects. However, strategies to address are limited, particularly the lack of agreement on how to measure kidney function in this group! Read here 👇 qualitysafety.bmj.com/content/earl...

Chelmsford Central #ParkRun no. 16 🏃 I've wanted to do my childhood home town @parkrunuk.bsky.social for a while. Forgot how lovely Central Park is! 🤦 Missed the start by ~5 mins (thanks SatNav!) Official time - 37m 24s #loveparkrun #running #loverunning #runhappy #runnerslife #runningcommunity
🙋 New paper alert! 📣 🤔 How do you define a Learning Health System? We argue that the definition should include integrated rigorous effectiveness evaluations as a criterion👇 @au-primarycareuol.bsky.social @wy-icb-research.bsky.social @bethancopsey.bsky.social @complexleedsctru.bsky.social

Proud supervisor moment! 🤩 So lovely to see Qandeel Shah on her doctoral graduation🎓 at University of Leeds today! I really enjoyed supervising her with the great team of Prof Rebecca Lawton & Dr Edmund Breckin. Wishing her all the best in the next part of her career 👏
Park Run no. 15 for me & a very hot but lovely one! This is a nice route and there is a fair bit of shade on the way round too. I got to meet one of my lovely online running friends in person for the first time. We nattered all the way round & nattered over brunch afterwards. 😀 #ParkRunLove #ParkRun
This is a lovely event! Hoping the smoking dragons will be there again 😄 #IMC2025

The University has placed in the top 100 universities in the world for the 8th year in a row, moving up to 13th position among the 90 UK institutions on the list 🙌 The QS World University Rankings were released today, and Leeds is ranked 86th in the world.
Fern Harvey’s fab poster presentation of her systematic review on process evaluations for complex intervention trials. Better reporting of context, mechanisms of action and fidelity would enable greater learning about successful interventions #ImpSci #EIE2025 @au-primarycareuol.bsky.social
Absolutely stunning! I enjoy crocheting but definitely do not have the patience for something as fine as this.

Don’t you just love it when a system update decides it’s more important than the work meeting you are in and decides to install and update mid meeting and doesn’t let you delay for just 15 mins? 🤯🤬😬 #NeedMoreCaffeine #JustBreathe🧘
