The scene 🔜 The shot. Slowly motoring in the fjord on a still morning. The majority of icebergs had congregated near the head of the fjord. All but one berg. Getting closer I could foresee the shot I wanted and finally with everything looking about right I shot the second image. One of my favs...
I am so fascinated with these spotted sandstone patterns and how they formed. I believe the spots are iron oxide and are much harder than the surrounding stone which is why it retains its shape and rich rust color. I’m sure the consistent wetting and drying cycles also play a large part…anywho …
