Lucky me--I have a stick of butter, which I use to "paint" butter on my toast, no knife needed, then add jam. So for me, the issue is crumbs on the butter stick. 😇 As to the OP question: I usually am butter or jam, not both, unless I feel like I need extra luxury that day.

The real question: You have toast, a tub of butter, a jar of jam, and a single knife. Do you A) Butter the toast first and end up getting butter in the jam, B) Jam first and get jam in the butter, or C) Refuse to apply either until a second knife is found. All morality is implicit in this question.

This is what angers me about the language of Jeffries' condescending statement. The election result is not about something petty like getting "even." It's about justice, and holding criminals accountable. It's about a government of the people, by the people, for the people.

A change in who holds power means little unless it changes whose interests that power serves. The entrenched, largely bipartisan order that lets the richest few plunder and profiteer while millions struggle to secure basic necessities—housing, food, health care—must be dismantled, piece by piece.

Seeing this Brueghel the Younger painting this morning sent me in search of a self portrait I did years ago. I was pretty sure I'd posted it on my old blog. Turns out I did but as a tangent to a post about this cool art book I made back then. It's kinda like a fiber comic. #Art #SelfPortrait #Comics

My dad loved movies & movie stars. He loved that Julie Newmar was in his yoga classes in Los Angeles. Weirdly, Robert Cummings is the first famous person I ever saw. My dad spotted him & had toddler me get a wave from him. My dad also loved Chopin. I miss him.

As well as being a famous Hollywood actress JULIE NEWMAR — still with us aged 93 — was also a patented inventor, real estate magnet & classically trained concert Pianist. Here she is playing a bit of Chopin on the TV show ‘My Living Doll’ in 1964.

My younger daughter is a birder extraordinaire. She can spot a warbler from a moving car. On a neighborhood walk this morning, by chance I spotted something first and was able to guide her and my older daughter to a lifer for them: a red-breasted nuthatch. 📷 credit in alt text #Birds #Nature

Uh oh. I asked my 20-something daughters, and they have not heard of Bob Seger. I even did my best impersonation, singing a greatest hits medley. At least they've heard of Stephen Graham Jones. [Repost because I spelled it like Pete Seeger first. Yeah, I'm turning in my parenting card.]

SGJ sits at the signing table wearing a mask, holding open a copy of My Heart Is a Chainsaw, pen in hand, ready to sign. He looks up at my daughter who is standing at the table telling him how much she loves The Fast Red Road. There is also her copy of FRR on the table.
The text reads: "My daughter Iris spoke with Stephen Graham Jones and he signed two books for her. A good day."

Crucial parenting advice from @stephengrahamjones.com in Men's Health 💪😄 (Re: the illustration: we need an 80s-style animated series with SGJ driving around the country in a convertible solving crimes & protecting kids from danger, scored with Bob Seger tunes.) www.menshealth.com/trending-new...

By beat, I mean I'm beaten. I know this is a hell the road to which was paved by my own good intentions. I'm incredibly grateful that kind and generous people have been willing to help me and my daughters survive. Thank you all.

Not "historical" but... The Graduate 1967 Anne Bancroft b. 1931 = 36 Dustin Hoffman b. 1937 = 30 Katharine Ross b. 1940 = 27 Mrs. Robinson (Anne, 36) says to Benjamin (Dustin, 30), "I'm twice your age." Anne, 36, plays Katharine's, 27 mother. Dustin plays the titular college graduate at 30.

Prompts a fun question: whats the most niche historical inaccuracy in a piece of work that annoys you Not like 'oh they were referring to the wrong king' , more 'they had the wrong king on a banknote in one scene'

“…and that all student-athletes can participate in collegiate tennis without being confronted with imagery associated with racial hatred and intimidation," Rachal wrote.” & Look at how carefully we have to word statements against Klan imagery now.
