i don't understand how the Gamers have successfully (and correctly) blamed Sony for the handling of Tokon on PC, but are blaming Pat Miller for 2xko reading the article, his stance is super defensible, 2xko had many drawbacks that had nothing to do with gameplay, like being associated with league

Max uninstalling Tokon live on stream because of how poorly they bungled the PC version is a HUGE deal. Like legitimately threatening to the devs to have the biggest fighting game influencer out there uninstalling your game live in front of thousands of people.

weirdly don't see this attitude in boardgames as much, if people think a game is too heavy they'll just not play it & play something lighter instead it's always videogames where this magically becomes a problem that needs solving, despite the same concept existing in almost all entertainment spaces

The way difficulty is discussed as if a game requiring effort to play on its own terms being an inherent negative is bizarre to me.

if anything about your speedgame's rules impedes you from going to a friend's house, taking a copy of the game off the shelf, putting it into the console, and doing your run, then it is a bad speedgame rule

Followup to that one even, as a thought experiment you could argue that the cost of games should go down to compete with how the entertainment landscape has changed, since it now also includes free to play games and... well, social media. Logging on to laugh at people costs nothing.

There's a certain amount of brain poison it takes to produce a post like this, and it can be instantly demolished with the idea that you cannot force people to spend money Try raising those prices to $100 and see what happens. Hell, go to $150, why the hell not. Surprise! Now there's a ton of risk.

AAA video games should cost $100 on launch. this would still be extremely cheap for the amount of time and enjoyment you get out of them! But an audience of whiny babies has kept them literally at the same price for *two decades* despite both general inflation *and* sector-specific costs rising

If I see one more take about "players optimizing the fun out of yugioh" I am going to lose it, I swear to god The players are not responsible for what cards are printed and legal, they are simply doing the best they can with what has been handed to them If that best is ridiculous, blame Konami
