They say you should write what scares you, but I've always written what brings me joy. What summer does to my brain: I just spent ten minutes wishing I had a cup of tea, only to realise that one had been sitting in front of me the whole time.

One of the best things about loving the Anne of Green Gables books is that, when you mention this to other people, almost always they answer with how much they love them too, and there follows a moment of shared delight that I know Anne herself would adore.
