Indy Documenters
@indydocumenters.bsky.social
We train and pay Indianapolis residents to document local public government meetings. A program of Mirror Indy. We're building a new public record.
Keeping public officials accountable is part of the Documenters mission. Documenters are people like you who we train and pay to attend public meetings to take notes and share them with the community. They’re helping us create a new public record in Indianapolis.
Each week, dozens of meetings are held across the city in which decisions are made that can directly affect you. Whether it's discussing petitions for proposed data centers, neighborhood updates or school district changes, Indy Documenters are there to take record of it all.
Ever wonder who’s keeping public officials accountable for the decisions and promises they make at meetings? It’s our Indy Documenters, people like you who we train and pay to attend public meetings, take notes and share them with the public. Documenters are helping us create a new public record.
Meetings for many Indianapolis governing bodies and organizations, stretching from City-County Council to the Citizens’ Police Complaint Board and beyond, are open to the public, but many people don’t have time to attend. That’s where Indy Documenters come in. Here's what we're covering this week.
Nothing says summer like the farmers market.☀️🍓 I recently dropped in on a different kind of market — one that's run entirely by kids! At this market, kids make their own products, sell them and take home what they earn. Here's a look, via @mirrorindy.org: mirrorindy.org/kids-markets...
