Aziraphale would have been offended if he hadn’t caught the jealousy and longing in her voice. And if he hadn’t been so knocked flat by the fact that that response had been so quick and earnest.

His response was equally quick and earnest. “Oh? If I’m hot, then why are you worrying? You’re gorgeous.” Her eyes were considering as he continued, “I’m sure you could get plenty of beautiful people in your bed if you tried. You’re so… you. I’m still changing and I don’t know what’s going to happen when, but the changes are slowing and I feel more me than I ever have, and now I can’t ignore it, I just… God, I want sex.”

It had started in November. The weather had gotten colder, and Aziraphale had taken to wearing very warm, cozy, oversized winter jumpers. He was fluffed up with wool and fleece and it would have been entirely normal, given what the rest of them were wearing. Except that she remembered the previous two years, how Aziraphale’s only concession to the cold was a wool jacket rather than a linen one when he wandered about town. Otherwise, his typical dress shirt, waistcoat, and bowtie combination tended to reign supreme, varying only in the slightest nuances of similar shades.

Ava had commented on it, telling him that she liked the change, that he looked very nice in it. He’d beamed with a little twinkle in his eyes and said that after he’d made a comment about feeling a little restricted, Crowley had gone out to purchase it and he’d chosen it himself and, “Oh, isn’t aquamarine the perfect color for it?”

Crowley wasn’t sure when he’d begun to hate the sound of a young child’s laughter. When he couldn’t stand the sight of the tiny baby clothes section of the department store. When the smell of diaper rash cream had started making him nauseous.

It hurt hearing and seeing and smelling those things. An infant’s cry sent a knife through his skull, and sure, the sound hadn’t been fun before, but it was absolutely unbearable now, and it filled him with rage instead of pity.

A deep sigh escaped from his chest. This part of the month was equally as hard as getting his period. Ovulating could have meant he was fertile, but his body hadn't agreed on that point since he changed his effort nine months ago. Early months of their decision to try for a second baby, with Aziraphale hoping to carry, were filled with excitement and this part of his cycle was met with little signs that told him, day by day, that ovulation was getting closer…until the big day when the line on the ovulation test would be as dark as could be. Sex was frequent and fun, as abundant as the hope they carried between them. Positive lines appeared on those ovulation tests, but there were no lines to be had on pregnancy tests. Tiny little screens blipped a “not pregnant,” which screamed in Aziraphale's head as a “fuck you, failure.”

Day by day, test by test, teasing symptoms that turned into PMS and the aching that came with each period took a tiny little bit of light out of Aziraphale, his hope diminishing.

Summary:
Sure, Crowley could cheat the birthing process a little to make it easier for himself, but could he really, when he remembered why childbirth hurt so much in the first place?

Notes:
Another idea from Ineffable Family February 2024, but as a subversion of one of the prompts actually. So behold the subversion of magical birth! I’m cheating for this one for sure, but considering I’ve written explicit labor and deliver (explicit both in detail and in sexual content :P) a few times, I think I’m entitled to a little silly :)

Summary:
In which Aziraphale decides it’s his turn to carry their next little merbaby.

Notes:
Adding the same caveat to this prompt as I did to the original fic - I’m using intersex for Aziraphale and genderfluid for Crowley as the best approximations for gender identity I can give for the system that the species of fish they’re based on has. This is because the term for these species’ genital/reproductive situation is very not PC. But it should be noted that Crowley’s genderfluidity isn’t just in terms of mindset/internal sense of self, but also in the changing of both primary and secondary sexual characteristics, whereas Aziraphale quite firmly identifies as male, but has both options for genitalia that he can choose to use at any moment.

That first time they’d conceived, as far as Aziraphale could see, Crowley had rapidly and forcefully changed presentations so that she could carry their children. She’d carried the other two as well, but since he’d been staying close after the first pregnancy and getting to see every phase of Crowley’s transformations, he could take note of the clues that he was thinking of shifting to her.

There were no sudden impetuses to switch based on Aziraphale lifting something heavy or being more ‘masculine’ than usual, but there were signs that the change was coming anyways. And while that would usually be celebrated, the anticipation of a new chance to make a child of their love, it made him a little nervous, as he was hoping to change things up a little for their fourth.

Which was why, when the kids were tucked away for the night and Crowley and Aziraphale were snug in their den, he hesitantly said, “I’ve been thinking we might try for another.” And before Crowley could say yes, he added, “And I’ve been thinking that it might be my turn to carry them.”

Summary:
Crowley’s due to give birth any day now, so Aziraphale is intent on pampering her. And on helping to make her life easier in future with a very focused massage.

She’d never felt so radiant as she did whenever he touched her like this, melted her back into her own body even as it grew to ever more alien proportions with the imminent birth of their child.

Chapter 15: 14. Historical Setting

Summary:
Two families with a big secret. A desperate need for an heir. Aziraphale and Crowley are thrown together as the only two who could maintain their families’ reputation and carry on their lineage.

Notes:
This prompt hits a few things, which is excellent for my WIPs collection :P One is historical setting, which was from Ineffable Family February 2025 but I couldn’t fit into my plans then. And the second is a tweet from onelastunicorn (I think during the same event but I could be wrong) talking about things she’d like to see and that is “historical marriage of convenience turned romance where an heir is needed (first comes pregnancy, then comes love! INSTEAD)”. Obviously peaked my interest! And the last thing is that I realized I had 3 ‘historical’ or at least ‘arrangement’ type things in Breedvember for Aziraphale and Crowley (all in a heterosexual relationship, but very much not all of them cis) and realized that I was missing one combo. That was trans man Crowley and trans woman Aziraphale, so obviously I had to rectify that!

Thus, this does fit the T4T prompt, but I had another idea for that before I realized that I could make this T4T and that it would make it all full circle, so there will be a different story for T4T :)

And as a note, this is very much like my Breedvember historical prompt – set in a weird pseudo-Regency/Victorian whatever the hell I want it to be time period, where some things would be particularly Victorian period accurate, but much is a blending of pop culture depictions of those areas and also whatever the hell I want it to be for Plot (or lack thereof) reasons :)

Summary:
In the most sacred of times, lioness and serpent meet among the stars they call home.

Notes:
I love true form lion Aziraphale and I was like, wait, even more fitting would be true form <em>lioness</em> Aziraphale. I didn’t think I would use it here, but I thought of onelastunicorn’s tweets back during IFF 2025 about creation/star baby parallels and went, constellations??? Very proud of the end result! Also, entirely by accident this is 666 words (not including footnotes)!! Felt very fitting :)

When the urge, no, the compulsion to create made itself known in Aziraphale and Crowley, they knew there was only one way to do it properly.

A gentle kiss and their Earthly corporations dissolved, the physical and metaphysical molecules of their consciousnesses and their true selves floating up towards the stars where they’d met. A brief, joyous swirl together, then they were drifting away to enmesh with the constellations that best represented their inner selves.

Summary:
Aziraphale’s become a bit of a neat freak as their baby’s birth approaches. At the same time, he’s become a hoarder of soft things, very much including Crowley’s heart.

“Angel, it’s clean enough,” she said, amused.

“No, it’s not,” Aziraphale replied, not even looking at her in his cleaning frenzy. “It could have germs. It could have something terrible on it that could hurt the baby. We’ll prepare bottles here if we end up needing them!”

“With how frequently you’ve been cleaning? I don’t think there’s anything living on that counter. And you can’t miss any spots because there’s nothing on the counter for anything to hide under.”

But there was no escape. Adam and Eve’s acts had permeated all of Eden, and everywhere he went was the miasma of procreation.

Well, until a bright, sharp scent saved him, clearing his nose in an instant. The stuffy, weighty feel of the air was gone, but the heat that had been building in Crawley hadn’t abated. If anything, it was growing stronger, egging on that funny feeling in his abdomen. Still, it was worlds better than the dizzying fog of before.

Which was why he didn’t hesitate to obey his instincts when they said, That, I need that, find that.
