Most companies confuse governance and compliance with security. It's security's role to manage controls which enforce some areas of compliance, which are specified by governance. Governance is set by the board based on legal requirements, regulatory requirements, risk and company goals.

This weekend I have mostly been refreshing my knowledge of serial protocols, and remembering why I blanked out most of the knowledge I had!
