"An ecologist must either harden his shell and make believe that the consequences of science are none of his business, or he must be the doctor who sees the marks of death in a community that believes itself well and does not want to be told otherwise." don't forget anguish. you can also anguish

Hey, that's a nice [THING YOU DO FOR PERSONAL PLEASURE], be a real shame if somebody were to [CONVINCE YOU TO MONETIZE IT, TRANSFORMING YOUR RELATIONSHIP INTO AN OBLIGATION AND ROBBING YOU OF JOY]

I just had a mild "what if I got a masters/phd" moment before remembering that the pay is so atrocious that it's inherently set up to bias dual income households/couples. like it's actually a joke how impossible it is to live on that salary as a single person. who wants a marriage of convenience

recent example I designed a dragonborn character and gave him a 'lizard walking on two legs' type build to suggest the ability to walk quadrupedal and someone told me i got the hip anatomy wrong because they looked "more like a quadrupedal animal" and i had to be like yeah that's the point

If you see this, please tell me the worst/most baffling bit of creative feedback you've ever recieved. Mine is still the time somebody told me my aliens had names that were too alien. Not that they were unpronounceable, just that they didn't sound enough like human names.

Amnesty International put out a major report documenting the influence of UK based anti trans gender critical organizations and their funding. Within hours, GC groups threatened defamation lawsuits and Amnesty was forced to pull it down. Proving the point they're anti rights. Anyways, here it is.

Simple drawing of a creature with a long looping neck and long tail with two arm-like legs. It has a vaguely beaky or dragon-ish face. The tip of its tail has a snake's head.Screenshot of GIMP canvas showing a drawing of a two-legged snake-like creature with a colourful banded pattern being transformed using the transform tool to appear like a 2D drawing viewed in perspective. The non-transformed version of the drawing is at the bottom.

New rule if I click on your profile and get instantly bombarded by pikachu's highly rendered photorealistic pussy then I'm blocking you immediately. My god get some taste

my most useless mild pet peeve is when people want to draw the sea or an underwater scene (usually marine) and use that wild cyan aquamarine shade and it's like the north atlantic or whatever. the predominant colour of sea life here is puke orange and pink and it's brown and brown and brown

I find it really easy to smash the contrast in a drawing up through the roof to make it striking but mostly these days I'm lowering contrast in the finished vs the working copy and making it less saturated. it's anathema for people who view only on mobile devices and I love that
