For our new study of acoustic communication in Leach's Storm-petrels, Laurianne and I deployed Song Meters at the entrances of birds nests to sample their vocal behaviour during incubation. A collaboration with Ingrid Pollet @ingridpollet.bsky.social, Patty Jones, and an A+ group of colleagues.
We focus on the benefits to #seabirds of keeping #islands free of invasive non-native mammalian predators but removing invasive predators from islands or ideally using #biosecurity to prevent them reaching islands in the 1st place benefits the entire #ecosystem www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...
