During his speech about the new law to prevent establishment cover ups after Hillsborough, the PM spoke about standing on the precipice of change. I hope it’s at the threshold Mr Burnham. When Starmer speaks it seems incredible that he was a Q.C. But he was. Standing on the precipice quite often.
A beautiful evening in Sheringham. I shot this quite quickly and didn’t notice the bird or where it was related to the sun until I got home.
At the EU parliament Nigel Farage stood up and declared no one here knows what it is to do a days work. The man sitting behind him with his head held on his hands was a brain surgeon and chair of the EU committee on modern day slavery.
In the last 4 years 8 women were killed by undocumented migrants, 267 were killed by a partner or ex partners. The biggest threat to women is not immigration but male violence. Reform does not care about women only paving the way for a fascist regime in the U.K.
Reform councils have closed Dementia services, youth clubs, and tried to close Care homes but residents as old as 90 fought back. Does reform think we are stupid enough to want Council Tax cuts at any price? The answer is yes.
Have just got back from a guided BFS trout fishing trip in Yorkshire. I am naturally unable to mention the locations. Our guide was Paul Gaskell a well known expert angler and conservationist. He is a very special character and it was a joy to fish with him. I learned so much.

I’ve just set up my new studio in Norwich. I moved there in December. I bought a Gretsch Snniversary semi acoustic in green. It arrived a couple of days ago. I’ve always wanted one. I’m just about to put my vintage Stratocasters up for auction. I shall probably get a really special classical.
Went to see Wuthering Heights because of Charlie XCX involvement. Disappointed. Some fine cinematography but dingy soundtrack. The gut shaking impact when someone places a salt cellar on a wooden table in IMAX format is very irritating. Sinners on the other hand is utterly fabulous. Massive treat.

Israel has opened the border to Gaza but is not allowing aid in to Gaza. This is a blatant attempt to further undermine the well being and health of survivors of the Israeli holocaust on the people of Gaza. Isn’t it time that Netanyahu was rendered to the care of the court in The Hague.

On new music check Charlie XCX new release featuring John Cale. Yes that John Cale. Preview tracks from Wuthering Heights. House and chains of love. Numbingly powerful. She is on the verge of total superstardom. A unique British performer. Charlie is way ahead of the pop establishment. Great songs.
After my last album BREAK THE DARK I’m working on new music. I don’t intend it to become the basis of songs. I want to explore sound design using field recordings and synth/sampled sound. I have treated myself to a hydrophone, binaural mics and a couple of Zoom digital recorders. I do love tech.
Have just seen The Running Man at the IMAX Odeon in Norwich. Absolutely stunning story, fabulous sound and cinema photography. Very special. A total treat for the eyes and ears.

Lest we forget the bravery of conscientious objectors. Most of them made a huge, non violent contribution to the war effort here in the UK.
I’ve just spent a delightful afternoon BFS fishing around Aylesham lock. Not a single fish. I had a nice perch take a chomp on a tiny lure (3grams) but it let go. I’ve never known the fishing so lacking catches but it is called fishing not catching. Still I’ll be looking forward to next time.
