Interview with a Bothan

*Slightly* more coherent takes can be found on our eponymous podcast, hosted by us, Lou & Lenny. Each episode, we read a different Star Wars novel and talk about history and society but with Star Wars. https://linktr.ee/interviewwithabothan

when you think about it, the fall of the New Republic in the Disney canon is a good example of why it is important to make sure that your military is educated. if your leadership is uneducated, they will not be able to recognize fascist propaganda.

Pain is temporary but Interview with a Bothan is forever -- this episode is slightly abridged* but we had a blast covering the first 40% of @chriskempshall.bsky.social's Star Pilots!! For those following along at home, this book did in fact make Lenny cry. open.spotify.com/episode/3Xwm...

Over in our strange little corner of the Star Wars media landscape we are so excited to be spending the month of October discussing Chris Kempshall's latest contribution to in-universe scholarship-storytelling in the galaxy far, far away!!

Also in this latest episode, Lou and Lenny attempt to rewrite scenes from Vision of the Future between Luke and Mara in the style of the Bridgerton books. You could ask an LLM to do that, but would an LLM get hilariously sheepish in the way that Lenny did? Definitely not!!

Hey now there is also a discussion of Wedge Antilles' fruity little evaluation of his homies' looks (except Hobbie for some reason) in Starfighters of Adumar... That's a Star War, no?

i feel like it’s kinda disingenuous to call the podcast a star wars podcast considering that in the ep i’m editing right now i spend like 30 minutes talking about DS9 and we talk about hand/machine sewing for a hot minute

Listen, life imitates art. This will be an episode that does not advance the arc of the podcast. It might not be the best episode. But there's a chance some people might find it entertaining. So there are many ways in which the upcoming episode is our Mandalorian and Grogo episode.

finished editing the mando and grogu review for podcast and i think it’s really funny how little sense it makes. but alas, this is what i get for suggesting we see the movie and record the review fried out of our minds
