The residents of the College are all excited about having a snow day and refuse to believe that it's all going to melt soon.
My takes from the #BHN Event last night: A lot of these people are really short, about my height; It was nice to hear my old history teacher is still about after a health crisis; I plan to go again to the second Dunedin event.
I realise I've come to work wearing my padded jacket which is not dry in heavy rain like this in Dunedin, and I will go out again when the worst of it hits at the end of the day.
I see the announcement of the closure of the University Book Shop's off-campus site, and the end of their Post Shop franchise is now on their Facebook page - Bugger!😡

The Archives was too warm half an hour ago, but now the sun is hidden behind the College and the drop in temperature is noticeable.
He got just one Doctor Who adventure, but what a story! I consider that he would have been a great addition to the Tardis crew as a companion.

Raising a glass to that very fine actor Tom Chadbon, who graced every franchise from James Bond to Blake’s 7 to Game of Thrones, and whose brilliant comic turn as Duggan, the out-of-his-depth private detective in the 1979 Doctor Who classic City of Death, is the stuff of TV legend.
I just remembered that Bill Oddie must have visited New Zealand for one of the Telethons in the 1970s. I remember it that he was based in Dunedin and he was an absolute powerhouse. Each main centre was broadcasting independently and we watched the Dunedin centre in Invercargill.
I will wait for the email from Forest and Bird to the launch of the Bird of the Year Campaign 2026 and then I will follow as many campaigns as I can find across Bluesky, FB and Tumblr, at least, to enhance my social media pleasure.
It looks like the restrictions at the college due to a flu outbreak among the residents have been lifted, waiting to hear confirmation.
My barber this morning was telling me that all the guys are voting Act because Paul Henry will be good for a laugh. In hindsight I don’t think they realise how much a vote for Tania Waikato will bring all the baddie bods into Parliament.
Sad news, I don't think there is a store to order books in Dunedin after this.

At the last election I got the opportunity to cut off Marama Davidson with a staghorn due to time limits at a meeting in Dunedin. I want good candidates to leave me wanting to hear more, and others I cut off with no regret. I consider Davidson a good politician and leader.

Let me see if I’ve got this right: Peters is naming the two new inter-island ferries Cook and Kupe, presumably because he was taught at school over sixty years ago that they were the two great discoverers of New Zealand, and, equally presumably, he thinks his legacy will own the libs.

If the final World Cup match is Argentina versus Spain, then there is a good chance that Trump will have to present the World Cup to a team whose leader has been critical of his leadership, rather than to an ally. So: Go Spain!
