🧵3/5 This matters because plant biomass is not only “green matter”. It is a multielement resource for herbivores, detritivores, soil organisms and microbes. Changing its chemistry may change nutritional quality, stoichiometric mismatches and contaminant transfer in urban ecosystems.

🧵2/5 We studied roadside lawns in Kraków and Katowice under three mowing regimes: once, three times, or six times per year. Frequent mowing reshaped shoot stoichiometry: increasing P, K, Na and Mg, while decreasing several metals, including Pb.
