Please note: mimicking our extraordinary multi-faith movement speaking out against the harms of data centers in MD is actually harder than it sounds: 1st, you need to belong to a congregation you can name. Then, you need multi-faith allies who are proud to be your partners.

"It isn’t AI that is deciding to place data centers in overburdened Black & brown communities; it is people who hope to profit ... who probably live in other neighborhoods & wouldn’t want this infrastructure located where they and their children live." — Joshua Long in @baltimoresun.bsky.social

Woodlawn residents deserve a say on proposed data center | GUEST COMMENTARY

Opinion: Woodlawn resident Joshua Long writes that he and his neighbors should have a say on whether a data center is built in his community.

We’ve been working hard in MD to electrify our congregations and homes and shift to clean energy. We need all the help we can get, especially as federal incentives have been taken away, and the EmPOWER program makes all the difference. HB 1532, the Utility RELIEF Act, may put this program at risk.

We need your help. 🚨🚨🚨 Please join us in speaking out against HB 1532, the Utility RELIEF Act -- which delegates plan to vote on Tuesday! -- which would drastically cut funding for EmPOWER Maryland, a key program that helps us undertake energy upgrades in our congregations and our homes. 🚨🚨🚨

“You serve US, the breathing public!” IPL-DMV director Joelle Novey spoke Tuesday at a rally outside DC’s PSC to demand they stop Washington Gas’ dangerous Project Pipes plan. We say NO to more gas infrastructure that harms our communities and our right to breathe clean air!

As BGE and Washington Gas share their WARMTH Act pilot projects with the Maryland Public Service Commission today, Action in Montgomery/Maryland Just Power Alliance and IPL-DMV congregations are standing with our neighbors at Northwest Park Apartments. We’re PUMPED for neighborhood geothermal in MD!

On Earth Day, our Director Joelle closed a multi-faith gathering on Capitol Hill with this song by Sarina Partridge:  "But don't you hear them too, the voices cutting through the despair saying: 'We need you there, in the belly of the beast, singing, singing, singing–  through times such as these."
