Something clicked for him as he stared.

"You're actually here now." The other froze up, tendrils all over curling up at the ends. The variant rolled to their side to look at Dream, as confused as he himself felt a minute ago.

"Explain Opal, also don't talk while out loud while others are around." The other winced, nodding at the pointed stare they gave.

'I just noticed, I can't see through you at all now. Your corruption is staining the weird thin paper stuff and you keep making everything you are on creak with your weight. It's different than before. Can you hear anything?'

The other frowned, looking away a moment almost staring out at nothing for awhile. The tendrils cautiously exploring. A soft sense of dread and frustration wafted out from the other, hesitantly shaking their skull.

'No, I cannot. Not even if I try and focus like yesterday. I knew I hadn't been hitting into anything today but I had assumed that was because I had finally gotten the right pattern down, I was but a fool to assume such a thing. This is much sooner than I had predicted.'

It all didn't add up in a way he liked.

The guardian had always assumed that his brother's corruption was just that, an endless amount of bile covering what little was left of of the younger sibling he held dear. The goop trapping them in an endless twisting the perception of the once delightful multiverse around them into something much worse than it actually was. The corruption cornering his brother until he became the awful conspirator he was today. At least, that was his thoughts when first meeting them outside of the accursed stone snare he had been stuck in. He knew much better now that the multiverse nor his home wasn't exactly the sunshine and rainbows he wish it had been, but he still had felt something sort of akin to that when going over the subject of the negative guardian.

Yet again though, he wasn't a fool. The way the murder trio who all worked with his brother acted as there became less and less of the sap on the other's form, gave way to slight panic and concern himself. It was as if, they treated his brother's corruption like it was his own negative energy stores. Killer asking the other if he 'ate well' just a bit ago even hinted at that.

Dream desperately wanted his brother back, but he also wasn't exactly ignorant about the signs being handed right in front of him. If he laid out the information given this battle and compared it to the timeline of events and other raids over the past few months…it didn't paint all that great of a picture for the enemy team. It showed a team fighting more often than they'd like, not even fully resting in between each mission. Growing more sloppy in their formations and taking bigger and larger risks with each raid.

As if they were all running out of time and growing desperate. Like they could no longer afford waiting to take a safer option for themselves.

Alas there'd only be so much putting off until he needed to bring it up to the other two, but one could hope. At least until after their planned escapades tomorrow.

After getting a long long run down and a couple headaches, the destroyer thinks he has the gist of most everything and what all to keep a socket out for. The call had finished up about ten minutes ago with a promise that the anomalies will edit out a lot of the audio or just straight up brick it if needed to so Nightmare would be none the wiser to the all that had happened the other night.

Finding out they did indeed hear all of that was mortifying, even worse that it was Nightmare's own lackeys who'd found out. There was no way he was going to live it down for the next several centuries to come.

On the bright side though, Dust was easy enough to bribe with between a fuck ton of LV relieving product and the promise to scramble his memory slightly via code next time they saw each other so they wouldn't have the gods moans seared into his memory. It'd be a tad harder to do it without the boss noticing, but the glitch had his ways. He'd done it a few times before after all.

Killer was the harder one. He wasn't an idiot, he knew better to keep his mouth shut on the matter especially considering how much the negativity guardian would flip out…as long as he never got caught teasing the glitch behind the god's back. Unlike Dust who was willing, Killer would be hell bent on if his memory's got tampered with considering how much he apparently loses when in between his stages.

'Wait, you are on speaking terms with your Nightmare!? You see him out of fights??' They tensed up more, hesitating as their tendrils wrapped around the chair's legs with a vice like grip below. He glanced off to the side.

'I, yes. The both of us are technically in a written truce right now so our fights haven't been nearly as bad. He refuses to try and disturb the balance too heavily one way or another until I…adjust fully to all of this.' Dream looked right at and it felt like almost through the other, slowly taking in Shattered's words.

"Shattered." The tone was flat, concern tinging it's edges.

For some reason it made him wince.

"Y-Yes?" He tried to look at his variant in the sockets. He couldn't.

"When exactly did you end up corrupting? Had that devastating mission of yours?" He turned away further, tendrils shaking out a bit as they went to go wrap more around himself instead of the chair.

"I don't." He could see as the other slowly processed his words, the tendril tensely wringing around the pjs now. Shattered looked up to the guardian. The god nervously gulped before speaking out.

"I buy sets of various colors and fabrics for guests but not duplicates of the same. I looked, the hangers gone from the closet as well. Blue drilled it into me when first picking out things for myself that"

"the council gives enough to those we rescue that we shouldn't need to bog down our own wardrobes I recall mine saying something similar." They finished, leaning back to stand more at attention while warily looking at the ruined fit he had shucked off himself minutes ago now.

The motion made the soft fabric slip from their hands. A tendril quickly went up it almost seemed as if on instinct and wrapped around the pjs both of the gods had been holding. The resulting motion forcing the pair to be yanked off the hanger, the grasp too tight from nerves.

The guardian noticed now in the broad daylight how a myriad of glitches danced around the hanger in his own hands and over the set in Shattereds hold both. The moment Shattered chose to step close to the discarded stuff by the bed Dream watched with horror how after a few moments the glitches danced up his own arms and about the other's frame and all over his tendrils. A buzzing sensation all over himself as if hed cut off the magic circulation in his arms for a bit too long.

Hissing a bit the positivity god dropped the hanger, sensations quickly intensifying into almost overwhelming territory. As soon as it hit the ground, the pop up boxes died out on the hanger.

Leaving a new pristine set of cotton pjs on them. Separate from both the pair crumpled on the ground by the bed and the set still in the variants grasp.

Continuing on he frowned more staring at the page. His physical stuff was fine but the positivity guardians mental state…

It wasn't good.

But it did also bring good prospects, which would be nice if it wasn't surrounded by so much fucking fornicating.

Simply put, thank the stars for Error's existence at getting Dream supposedly down from whatever spirals they had been having. Seemed like the guardian needed to learn a lot himself.

However, the naive god said something really intriguing that he knows Nightmare would want to hear personally, maybe even make the boss finally reach out like he'd been wishing for these past few decades.

Dust would've never believed it if he hadn't heard it, but Dream passed the bad gang's test.

See, no one ever necessarily talked about it out loud but there was good reason aside from the immortal bull shit that their crew gaining broken members went to a crawl after Horror. Nightmare never truly just up and kidnapped anyone for his team, no. He found your AU full of suffering and if you begged him enough to be free of your situation or try to follow him he'd ask you a few simple questions.
