Super Mario World has an extremely eclectic art style whereby many enemies are drawn in completely different ways. Development files reveal Mario went through many stylistic changes; it is possible that all the enemies were made to fit Mario, but at different points in time.

Tonight my Troops database corrupted, and my latest backup was like a month ago. I managed to use Notepad++ to reconstruct it using Map IDs, but I had to re-event a whole boss fight. This is your reminder to back up your game. You never know when the engine will arbitrarily die! #rpgmaker
