🌎🍃 ITP Resident Mary Mark (aka Dr Markhvida) took us to the NYU Climate Initiative Conference, where she presented her research with ITP Prof. Yuliya Parshina-Kottas, visualizing climate disasters before they happen so that communities can feel prepared and empowered.

👃Computer vision got your nose? 🤏 Come with me to learn about hand and body tracking in Creative Computing with Prof Jack! The class Creative Computing teaches IMA students the basics of coding and physical computing, which includes libraries like ml5 which can track body parts through a webcam. 📹

🚌 Prof. Blair Simmons took the Useless Machines class on a field trip to Pioneer Works this Spring, and we got to tag along! It was a treat to see the ins and outs of how the cultural arts center runs and the exhibition by past ITP Project Fellow Yehwan Song.

Here come the ALTER EGOS! 🦹 Professor Ali Santana’s IMA Alter Egos class takes the stage at The Garage on Tuesday May 6th! Each student has created a unique persona and an audio-visual performance to go with it. What new characters will we see this semester?

🖼️ Gallerists watch out! IMA students are taking over! For the class “Open Call”, students are tasked with curating a real exhibition at a professional gallery space featuring work created by their classmates. This show is all about hoarding!

📸 Who needs photobooths when you can make one at school! Students in IMA class Experimental Photography show off their midterm projects, including 📝 affirmations, 🍞 bread, and 🐟 fisheye lenses!
