I think I could appreciate my own melancholy more if I associated it with flying witches and devilry 🧙

I love that no one really knows wtf the Picts were doing with these “mysterious stone objects.” Game, toy, talisman, ritual item, art?
This was so great & funny. Visited the Etches Museum of Jurassic Marine Life, a fossil museum in Dorset based on the lifetime collection of Steve Etches, a fossil hunter, from the local area on the Jurassic Coast. Best exhibit features Etches’ workshop & *Etches himself* working behind glass 😮

This was eerie. The “ghost village“ of Tyneham, Dorset, all of whose occupants were forced to evacuate during World War II (town used for military training)
Faculty member fired for assigning an Ottessa Moshfegh story. Class (with a focus on “unlikable narrators”) sounds great!
It definitely needs a NYC run! Brilliant & strange (& horny)
If BAM doesn’t program this for Next Wave 2027 they’re really missing a trick
I happened to catch this @theyardtheatre.bsky.social — it’s the extremely raunchy/ graphic Swedish-language puppet adaptation of Jackie Collins we didn’t know we needed (but did!)

I got lucky and got @rcolesworthy.bsky.social as my editor for my forthcoming crazy creative-critical hybrid volume, HOW LESBIANS SAVED POETRY. The SUNY Press fall catalog just dropped and mine is a Featured Book! Rebecca and I would both love it if you pre-ordered a copy. Link in comments.
Love that “Video Killed the Radio Star” was a riff on JG Ballard
"There are some risible lines, and most of them belong to Matt Damon’s Odysseus. ... Damon demands to be tied to the ship’s mast saying, “I wanna hear the sirens’ song,” like a Boston teenager in 1988 cuing up the new Aerosmith album"
Impale and Cry: Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey”
In the latest rendering of the epic, there is plenty to feel guilty about even if you did not mean it.

A friend wrote “I saw Glen Branca at Sanders Theater with a whole bunch of guitarists, it was incredible…We didn’t have tickets to the show but they were rehearsing/sound check? during the day (we walked by and heard them) and you could just walk into Sanders and stay as long as you wanted”
Just checked my old Twitter account to see if anyone had tried to contact me there. They hadn't but two people did like this clip of Glenn Branca that I posted on the occasion of his death in 2018. Sometimes I think it is the best ever document of music on film. It's art. youtu.be/sqHz7cUw4Ls?...

I appreciate this use of the term “argy-bargy” (“The colorful phrase is a variant of the earlier Scots phrase argle-bargle. Both parts of the word playfully combine a modification of "argue" with a nonsense rhyming repetition (a linguistic device known as reduplication)”)

Trick or spice? How the 'nutmeg' came to dominate the soccer world
Nutmeg commonly spices up a holiday season eggnog. It's also one of the most sought-after trick moves in soccer.
