Congressman proudly representing Maryland's Fourth Congressional District.

Todd Blanche just proved exactly why he cannot be Attorney General. The settlement could only be amended through a written agreement. Instead, Blanche tried to reassure Republican senators with unsigned documents and social media posts that carried no legal force.

Opinion: It's fitting Blanche would hoodwink Sens. Cornyn and Tillis. We know he sees himself as Trump's personal attorney, not the acting attorney general.

Today, we celebrate and honor the 50th anniversary of Prince George’s County’s very own, Sugar Ray Leonard winning a Olympic Gold Medal at the 1976 games. Sugar Ray’s journey is a testament to the talent and excellence that continues to define our community. #PGproud to call him one of our own. 🥊🥇

It was an honor to join CCI Health Services for their White Coat Ceremony. As we recognize 60 years of Medicare and Medicaid, this moment is a reminder that expanding access to quality health care requires both a strong health care workforce and strong public health programs

I've said from day one that Todd Blanche is not fit to serve as Attorney General. Now, even Senate Republicans are unable to advance his nomination. The American people deserve an Attorney General whose allegiance is to the rule of law and the American people, not the President.

BREAKING: President Trump says he may pull Todd Blanche's nomination for attorney general, looking to avoid concessions to holdout Republicans.

More than 35k Marylanders have lost SNAP benefits because of changes enacted under H.R. 1. At a time when families are already struggling with the rising cost of groceries, House Republicans should be joining Dems in fighting hunger and lowering costs, not making it harder to put food on the table.

More than 35,000 Maryland residents have lost their SNAP benefits since the federal government enacted new rules for the program last November.

The overwhelming majority of immigrants are doing exactly what every family hopes to do: work hard, raise their children, and contribute to their communities.   We cannot allow fear and political theater to justify policies that continue tearing families apart and costing innocent lives.

In honor of National Parks and Recreation Month, let’s recognize the value of our national parks and the role they play in preserving history and enriching communities. Ft. Washington National Park is a treasure that deserves the investment needed to preserve it and unlock its full potential.

Maryland is home to some of our nation's largest federal agencies and thousands of hardworking public servants. They, and every American worker, deserve a wage that keeps up with the cost of living. Seventeen years is long enough. It's time to raise the federal minimum wage.

A big thank you to our incredible summer interns! I had a great time sitting down with them to hear about their experiences this summer and thank them for the important work they're doing on behalf of the people of Maryland's Fourth District.

It was great to join Reps. Hoyer and Ellzey at Fort Washington National Park to see firsthand the areas in need of restoration. With the right investment, we can preserve this historic landmark’s legacy while creating a more immersive place that brings its history to life for future generations.

The Trump administration painted itself into a corner and now the American people are paying the price.   An illegal war. Rising gas prices. Contradictory messaging. No clear strategy.   America deserves leadership grounded in law, credibility, and accountability.

🚨CODE PURPLE ALERT 🚨 Due to smoke from the Canadian wildfires, Maryland is under a Code Purple Air Quality Alert.   At-risk populations if possible, should limit outdoor activity, keep windows closed, and monitor local air quality updates to help protect your health.

From mental health to food security to mentoring the next generation, I'm grateful for every opportunity to listen, learn, and lead. These conversations help shape the work we're doing to create stronger, healthier communities.

Since the beginning of the year, House Democrats have demanded that Republicans agree to reform DHS and ICE. Republicans have refused.  In the last week, ICE Agents have shot and killed two people: Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Joan Sebastian Durán Guerrero.   Their families deserve answers.

It was great joining local leaders and students at the Prince George's County Youth Town Hall this weekend. The next generation of leaders in Prince George's County is already making their voices heard, and our future is brighter because of it.

One year ago, Trump and House Republicans forced their "One Big Beautiful Bill" on the American people. Since then, an estimated 1.5 million children have lost access to food assistance because of SNAP cuts and stricter eligibility rules.

This Fourth of July, let’s celebrate how far we’ve come while recognizing the work still ahead. As the Trump administration works to roll back years of progress, it’s up to all of us to protect the freedoms and opportunities generations before us fought to secure. Happy Fourth of July. 🇺🇸

The fight to save BARC continues.   PG County has joined the coalition fighting to protect this world class research institution. BARC supports jobs, food security, and groundbreaking research that can’t simply be moved elsewhere. We’ll keep fighting to keep BARC in Beltsville.

The people who keep Capitol Hill running deserve fair wages, good benefits, and a secure retirement. My colleagues and I were proud to stand with UNITE HERE Local 23 as they continue fighting for a fair contract for the workers who serve meals, maintain our buildings, and support Congress every day.

As we close out Immigrant Heritage Month, we celebrate the immigrants who make Maryland’s 4th District stronger every day. From entrepreneurs to health care workers and community leaders, their contributions help our communities thrive. I will always fight to protect their opportunity and dignity.
