Rudaw reports: Syrian Civil Aviation: Damascus International Airport received today the first flight of the German company SundAir arriving from Berlin, heralding the start of its regular and direct flights between the two capitals. I'm already going to Berlin - now I should pop over to Damascus.

Elizabeth clearly explains why Israel's ad hoc moves in Syria are not part of a clear strategy by any means, but there are drivers behind them. She also encourages the Syrian government to reconcile with Suwayda. But this is much easier said than done, imo. syriaintransition.com/en/home/anal...

Syria in Transition – Damascus is misreading Israel’s motives in Syria

I'm not a judge, but this looks like it would be solid grounds for dismissing the Trump case against the BBC - the Kushner and Trump family simply refusing to share testimony or documents with the BBC side. www.politico.com/news/2026/08...

This is so sad. There are so many things that could have happened and should have happened. Not this. No one should be pushed to the end of their life because of a toxic media storm. Could we have moved on and let him live quietly? Yes, we should have. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/15/w...

Three benches alongside a pretty busy road in the heart pf Tel Aviv, and three people choosing to hang on them. One lady has a phone and a dog. One dude with a phone a cigarette and a bunch of beers. And one with a laptop and a joint. We're all just hanging on here.

The very simple pressure point here is that India must condition the usage of Indian located refineries on ending the war with Ukraine. The whole world needs that to happen. It doesn't mean India can never work with Russia - just pause operations until Putin is gone or gets some sense.

Figured out how to get my old DSD files to work on my Macbook after several years, and wow, I remember now how much I liked the way they sound so smooth, like vinyl, but with more clarity. Instruments sound so real.

It will be difficult to get the power needed for AI soon without some fossile fuels, but there is also a security reason to go solar/wind/water power - if an enemy is ever at war with the US and critical AI centers are sitting on a pile of explosive gas they will be sitting ducks.
