Hi Jon - it turns out things don’t stop existing just because you deliberately ignore them. This is called “object permanence” and most people learn it when they’re about 6 months old.

Where I work wages are down 22% against inflation since 2010 (though I've only been here since 2018) I've moved into better paying jobs 6 times in the last 20 years, but still can't keep up with the cost of living increases.
