Welsh. Former central banker. Mostly skeeting about my cooking and LFC. Mostly. He/him. Almost died once and I wrote about my accident and the role Zwift had in my rehabilitation: https://zwiftinsider.com/the-fresh-puncheur-of-watopia/

Look, you don't have to do alt text on your photos, but writing "a screenshot from the article" instead of copying and pasting the text you are sharing - which you can easily do right from the alt text screen - is worse than doing nothing. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I have a lot of sympathy on this point as – after a game at altitude at one in sweltering heat – his team were dead on its feet. Momentum was lost long before the defensive substitutions. But the squad selection was exposed. Henderson’s injury screwed England as he didn’t trust Mainoo.

Thomas Tuchel is being very cunning here. He's blaming the players for his substitutions (they'll see that, and won't like it.) He's within his rights to say England don't keep the ball as well as other top nations in big knockout games, but he's casting himself as a bystander.

I can’t think of much that would give me more pleasure than seeing Arne Slot lead the Netherlands to victory at Wembley in two years. Wales, obviously, but I’m a realist and my boys are far from certain to qualify.

A lot of US politics is very funny, but the fact that they’re basically Weekend at Bernie’s a sitting senator is hilarious. Also, I think we really need a new reference point for pretending someone is dead. That terrible movie is 37 years old!

GET LOST is your Summer Beach Read. It’s a hilarious whodunnit about washed up baseball player and his daughter trying to find what happened to his ex and her mom. If you like Carl Hiassen/Elmore Leonard mysteries you’ll love this. @justinhalpern.bsky.social creates a world you don’t want to leave.

So many Egypt / Stolen / British Museum jokes… Just a shame that the game want stolen. Amazing performance by Egypt but sadly the best team on the day did go through.

Look if you think it’s fine for Trump to corruptly get a red card revoked (or “suspended”) bc FIFA is already corrupt, maybe you understand the MAGA mindset better than you think. “All politicians are corrupt so it’s ok for Trump to be corrupt” is a very common maga rationalization

Almost got gaslit by US fans into thinking that the red card for Balogun was soft as shite and only looks bad in super slow-mo/freeze frame. I went back and watched the live coverage on iPlayer: 1. He goes through the back of the defender 2. He's not in control 3. It definitely could have injured

If you want to know how Trumpists can hoot and cackle over their side “winning” based on corruption, just look at the universal smirking of Americans over the FIFA decision. Go Belgium!
