The pearl clutching about this kinda bothers me because they're missing the real issues. As a motorsport fan, I'm not worried about landmarks, etc. Street circuits are normal and catch fences are good. As long as stuff is done well, it's fine.

This will likely also create a stark divide in QOL in Rural vs Urban America, worse than the one today. Rural America is awful, but it's usually cheap. Soon it will be awful and LESS cheap as utilities ramp up, leading to further collapse of their communities.
