Attempting to learn to use Tableau for work and am so far unimpressed, particularly with how long it takes to do simple things. There's a fair chance I'm totally using it wrong, but, as a SQL dev, the UI is far from immediately intuitive.

#Amazon has inflicted an AI slop bot on their site that you can't shut off or opt out and it's incredibly annoying and intrusive. I know the company is evil and all that, but shit like this will hopefully drive customers away. It's so stupid and unnecessary. I can't wait for this garbage to implode.

Watching SpyxFamily with my kid and it's fine, except I'm so tired of this overdone "everyone is lying to each other even when it's against their best interests" plot line. It's just stupid and overused and, worse, cliched, annoying and predictable. It's just bad writing.

Just watched the 4K Blu-ray of Speed Racer and holy shit, what a great damn movie it is. The disc is superb and there's just not another movie quite like this one on so many levels. Someday, I hope the movie gets the love it deserves. #movies

Being part of the #sandwichgeneration with both kids and elderly sick parents is hell. It's constantly exhausting and stressful, with ever-looming anxiety because if you're not in a crisis you're just waiting for the one to start. I feel like there should be therapy or unloading groups for this.

Since I'm not much of a 3D modeler and mostly just use TinkerCAD (because it works at work), it's all simple stuff, but I can't find much online that instructs in how to do this

I like that we're seeing stuff like this, but I don't get why you would limit the SD card to a measly 256GB. Also, it should be open source so you could develop games and such for it and I can't find any mention of what software it's using to get your music collection onto the device. Looks cute tho

And Del Toro is entirely correct. I would love Dead Cells if it were even just slightly more traditional, but as a grown-ass adult who barely has enough time for anything, rogue-likes in particular just don't work for me. And Hades is also no exception.

I'm playing Slave Zero on the #dreamcast tonight, a game I've had a fondness for since it came out. It desperately needs dual analog controls (and to this day I'm boggled Sega didn't go that way with the DC) and it's clearly taxing the hardware.

I haven't done any tech journalism in a couple years, but I think an investigative report on the failure/success stats of tech Kickstarters after the KS campaign succeeds would be enlightening. I've checked out a ton of devices over the years and so many of them ended badly.

This morning's random internet hole was PHA filament, yet another material I was previously unaware of. Based on the info/videos I checked, it's actually biodegradable, made from microbe by products, prints mostly like PLA, but works more like PETG and ABS. Sounds neat. #3dprinting

I try not to buy more power tools anymore, because earlier in life I went a little too crazy, but I have to repair something where an oscillating tool makes it a lot easier and my 18v collection is Ryobi anyway, and I got this for about $30 on eBay. So, anyway, now I own an oscillating tool.

I started writing professionally at 19. My main motivation was simply that I wanted to be a writer and my young stupid self thought that must matter. It didn't of course, but I did pretty good anyway for about 10 years. I was a better critic than wordsmith though, and undiagnosed with AuDHD...

One of the great joys of my old writing career was reviewing movies and I'm a firm believer that a review should convey all the info you need to know even if you disagree with it. This is a superb deep dive from an expert comparing the source material and the film and a hoot to read.
