I forgot that power draw was a major factor when I bought my Strix Halo PC. Buying a R9700 (or even two of them!) does make for very fast inference, but sucks up power.

AI amplifies the Dunning-Kruger effect into making people think they are much more talented than they really are
When you look at the full Labrynna map as one continuous image, it looks a lot smaller than it feels in-game
One of the things I've done this weekend is setup specialized AI inference engine for my Strix Halo. It works and is significantly faster than before, but I've run into a problem: What do I do with it?
I finally set up Immich for a self-hosted image gallery, but the app doesn't integrate as well as I'd hope
I've been having a very productive weekend. I'm actually doing things unlike before.
Mercenaries are absolutely shameless when it comes to getting their money.
Day 8: Predicament From the frying pan into the vat of toxic lava pirannhas! How will Mal escape this one?!
I do find it absolutely hilarious that it took not even a month between a team at work being allowed to use AI and absolutely fucking up their codebase.
Some people just cannot design systems. When given a problem, they just jump straight into code without thinking anything through.
I wish I could play Ocarina of Time for the first time again. But after watching an OoT speedrunner consistently for ~15 years, I've acquired so much secondhand game knowledge about it.
I keep trying to find a way you could incorporate AI into a game in a meaningful way, but it's a lot like NFTs: it's a solution looking for a problem. Every usage fails in comparison to an already existing solution. It's too slow to use and too unpredictable to control.
To be quite honest, my AI generated code tends to be better written than the handwritten code from my coworkers.
Today's one of those days where I'm just in a bad mood all day
I hate having to call places where they are just verbally repeating whatever they see on their screen and having to verbally input things. Just let me fill it out myself.
I also love it when places are visibly better off after you visit. For example, in Ages the Zora King is poisoned (dead in the present) and the ocean polluted. You both heal the King so remove the sea pollution. It makes you feel like a hero when things improve because of you.
Oracle of Ages is very inconsistent with its time travel. Most times, thing you change in the past affect the present, but there's some cases where the present is already affected by things you did in the past before you did them.
Since I'm on a retro game binge, I would like to play Zelda 2 and give it a fair shot at some point
