Newcastle United fan. Massive Joe Willock ultra.

Joe Willock needs to start every week. Lad is reborn under Jaissle. Goals have been class, but it’s his increased work rate that’s even more impressive. Busted his gut for the team today, which isn’t something he’s always done in the past and I’m one of his bigger fans. #nufc

Lots of confirmation bias going on with analysis of Willock this season. People have already decided he’s shit now, so look for the bad stuff. He’s been decent - a bigger goal threat than Wissa. Not a number ten, but he’s doing alright under Jaissle. #nufc

Strange to see Miley getting a lot of stick. Was class for the first two games and now people want him benched. Will be plenty of inconsistency from these young lads, but not sure benching after one poor game will be a good environment for them. #nufc

Lots of headloss over Mike Dean’s comments on a podcast. A bloke who’s always craved being centre of attention being spoken about all over the internet. I would question how true anything he says truly is.

Nico Gonzalez is the signing of the summer for me. I don't even think that's being too bias. He is a Champions League calibre player, who would be playing for Man City if Pep was still manager. Would have improved every team in this league. Weird he joined us really. Had no right to get him. #nufc

Nick Pope staying shows the lack of interest in him. Shame as I'd like to have seen him go to play. Thought Celtic or Rangers would have been perfect. That being said, if his options were being our third choice keeper or a second choice elsewhere on less money, his decision makes sense. #nufc

It's going to be a fun season with these young lads. They'll make mistakes along the way - Jaouen last night, but we need to give them room to make these and learn from them. Thought his footwork was class. Can see the talent in all of the signings, but some will need longer than others. #nufc

Loved Will Osula’s tenacity off the ball yesterday, even with his knock. His decision making with the ball was much better too. Aye, he has his flaws, but he’s an absolute menace for opposition defenders. #nufc

I hate the transfer window with a passion, so delighted the actual football is back. Feel like some people care more about shiny new players and ‘Bombas’ than they do about seeing the lads win at the weekend. #nufc

Lots of catastrophising after the pre-season friendlies. Club has already indicated its a year of transition. You don't set out a transition season if you're in a good spot. Coaching staff and players need time, but I'm confident we'll see a positive change over the season. We'll be alright. #nufc

Watching the first half of the community shield before our game, but seeing Bruno in that kit is making me feel sick. Going to be constant reminders across the league of our painful last two summers. Bruno, Isak, Tonali, Anderson, Minteh, Manzambi, Pedro, Sesko. The list goes on. #nufc

I’m feeling a lot more confident about #nufc after some logical thought. It’ll be a transition season for sure and we look massively undercooked right now, but nobody gets relegated in August. I’d expect steady improvement throughout the season. #nufc

I didn’t understand why we wanted Hojbjerg/Palhinha, but it became obvious yesterday. Some experience and positional discipline in that midfield would help massively. Hopefully some progress on signings before the weekend. We can only hope. #nufc
