Exploring the ether. Traveling through music. Doing computer stuff. Playing with: soulector.app

Been developing an iOS app port of soulector.app with Claude Code mostly on my phone using their dev boxes with no iOS toolchain, so it usually one shots correct feature code that I can test once the GH action that builds the APK for me to side load runs on the PR it makes

I've been thinking a lot recently about how a lot of breakthrough thinking in code factoring like DDD and OOP were really about how to make code feel like not code but rather the real life concepts it was supposed to let us express, and now that level of abstraction is so accessible. It's great

I have a confession- I never cared much for writing code. I think when I was younger I really enjoyed memory surfing in C; but now I tend to be quite content that implementation is divorced from the conceptual thinking.

I was putting off starting a new series this year but I gave in and also finally caved to starting a Sanderson universe. Enjoyed this one a ton! Starting Well of Ascension today

Screenshot of my good reads summary for Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson

I gave it 5 starts. Read from May 4th to May 15th, 2025

Finished Babel by R.F. Kuang today Besides the fact that it was a wonderful journey. I wasn’t expecting this book to resonate so much with me

Shout out to all the unsung heroes who make all the rem to px, or hex to rgb lil web apps that still come up on Google

Finished Fourth Wing. Giving it 3.5/5. I really would've liked some more world building, and I think the fact that it's known it'll be a 5 books series is messing with the pacing a bit. Fun read though. Starting Iron Flame next

thinking of that react canvas renderer thing that Flipboard made that looked like the future for a bit and wondering where we'd be if they had kept on building it

Dragged through The Mountain in the Sea and I was starting to fear reading had peaked for me Happy to report that we're so back Halfway through Dark Matter in like a day and hooked

Put a big ol flashdrive on a raspberry pi I had sitting in a closet, deno serve, and bam, local network files baby
