Let's explain how the Reform plan to return refugees back to France without permission works in the real world. 1) The Royal Navy are ordered by PM Farage to enter French sovereign waters without permission and deposit refugees on French beaches, presumably using some kind of landing craft. 1/n
Reform just can't seem to wrap their heads around why their plans to use the Royal Navy to return small boats to French shores aren't feasible or workable
The far-right in England really is something else. If this was anyone else, the government would be looking at proscribing them as a terrorist organisation. Their purpose to is to terrorise council workers into leaving their flags up. Still, mustn't upset the flagshaggers.
Leaders of flag-raising group Raise the Colours Oxfordshire placed trackers on highway workers’ cars to find out their home addresses, the High Court has heard. RTC then attempted to intimidate the highway staff into no longer removing flags by repeating their addresses to them.
Rod Liddle died. I think it's difficult to sum up someone's career when they've been so active but, as a tribute to his work, I'll just post this.
I am rarely surprised by corruption but am often shocked at how cheap it is to buy influence. As a very basic rule of thumb, if it's less than a lottery win, you're selling yourself short.
The US host cities for the 2026 men's World Cup claim that they were *verbally* promised $1 million each by Gianni Infantino and that FIFA hasn't paid up. Truly incredible stuff. www.nytimes.com/athletic/749...
Absolutely wild the levels of renewables that some countries are producing at the moment. This is the way.

I'll tell you what, there are gonna be some pretty confused recent followers after that last post.
I know a lot of you only follow me because of my world leading skills in #CoffeeArt. I'm sorry I haven't posted for so long. I've decided I'll only be posting my top quality Coffee Art and not my everyday stuff. So, here we start with a tribute to firefighters everywhere - "Firefighter In Action".
It's worth remembering that you can win a majority with about 35% of the vote, these numbers are the new normal given the emergence of a new party and, crucially, we're not in an election period.
The latest polling from @opiniumresearch.bsky.social has Labour up five points up with a four point lead over Reform and the Conservatives ten points behind. The political weather has changed - though this remains a low level of support for an incumbent. Lab 27% Ref 23% Con 17% LD 12% Greens 12%
Casual reminders that you live in France in 2026 - I've just spent 10 minutes looking for my cheque book.
I know it's not been announced yet but Restore have won in Manchester. The reason I know is because Rupert Lowe hasn't stopped telling people how well they've done. Keep an eye on @chadbourn.bsky.social for confirmation of the historic Restore win soon.
Seems that the bizarre tradition of the bar at Roscoff ferry port being shut when the ferry from the UK arrives has continued. Still, at least it's open when there's nobody here. So there's that.
PERSONAL STATEMENT After much consideration, I have decided that I will not be playing in the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Football is not for sale and I believe that we all need to be ready to make a sacrifice, however hard that may be personally.

Mitch McConnell should either provide proof of life or come back from the dead and resign.

Waiting outside the vet for them to put our rabbit down. Much sadness.
What you're thinking is awful and that is why I am definitely not thinking the same.
NEW: Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is demanding in a new letter that Mitch McConnell "directly and verbally address the people of Kentucky and provide proof of your capacity to serve, or resign."

A fantastic example of what is happening vs what the UK media says is happening.
Having just watched an ad break on UK tv, I have come to the evidence-based conclusion that the UK population is diverse and they have cured all disability. So, well done them. 👍
Fun fact: if done well, investing in the security of the nation (which would increase taxes) could also create jobs. Jobs are good for the economy.
“When the manifesto was written there was no war in the Middle East and the true state of the economy was unknown. We need to do what is right for our nation. That means we cannot retain the well-intentioned pledge not to increase taxes. But we will do so to make life better for ordinary people.”
At the risk of saying something wildly unpopular here, I'd like you to watch this video again. All the way through. It could be a turning point. But not the one you're thinking... 1/n youtu.be/8c42QfkVe50?...
