While it was always obvious it'd go this way & (not to be smug) I'm glad I resisted any urge to get rid of DVDs/CDs, even I am surprised how quickly streaming went from: 'Don't worry, it's all here when you need it' to 'we're gonna charge you through the fucking nose for everything, suckers!'
Oh. Wow. I feel at this point we need a comprehensive list of which public positions the Conservatives think it's OK to have neo-Nazis elected to and which we should maybe keep them away from.

I also broadly agree with this. Have I ever had fun playing a game? Yes, I would have to say I have, but on balance, even taking those occasions into account, I'm just not sure it's worth the risk. With children, fine. I accept my obligations. I shouldn't have to entertain grown adults, though.

In Manchester at an event called MegaCon (or something like that). It is weird. Some people have really put an incredible effort into their costumes. But equally, a grown man just walked past in a pink lycra all in one bodysuit & flowery swimming shorts. (Patrick, from SpongeBob, we think.)
Called @lbc.co.uk on Weds & spoke to @iaindale.bsky.social about this. Social care is SOOOO much cheaper than NHS care, but most councils are too skint to do more than bare minimum statutory obligations. We could solve social care AND save public £ overall if we stopped having such siloed budgets.

I don't know under what law, but IMO there should be criminal charges laid on the property management company for this. It is absolutely unconscionable that families were in those conditions purely to bolster profits. Utterly, horrifically disgusting.

Assuming it doesn't break party rules (seeing as they're not standing a candidate) it's slightly surprising Labour aren't bussing in activists to campaign for the 'anyone but Nigel' vote, really. Obviously they couldn't do it under a Labour banner, though. Maybe they are and I just don't about it.

Whether as part of compulsory voting or not, there should be a none of the above box anyway & those votes counted. People need a way to express dissatisfaction, rather than indifference & should be able to do so in a way that doesn't group them with incompetents who can't fill in a ballot paper.

I suppose you can always spoil your ballot, but I’d only support this if there were some legitimate spoil your ballot option like a “none of the above” box.
It was the Tories who shafted it back in 2009, when that also supposedly had cross-party support. Well, until there was an election on the horizon, anyway.
