James Talarico

Texas State Representative, former middle school teacher, and Presbyterian seminarian running for the U.S. Senate to take power back for working people.

Talarico: I've passed 60 bipartisan bills through the Texas legislature. We're told that it's a choice between people who fight and people who get things done. I think the people of Texas deserve a senator who can do both — and I've shown in the statehouse that I can do both.

James Talarico: Today is the the anniversary of Ken Paxton’s famous mugshot. What's fascinating about that story is that he was scamming his own friends. If Ken Paxton is willing to scam his own friends for a quick buck, what makes you think he's not going to scam you in the United States Senate?

James Talarico: Since taking office, Ken Paxton has become a multi-millionaire — all while most Texans’ pay has remained stagnant for decades. He now owns 15 homes, while most Texans can't afford one. We can't afford Ken Paxton's corruption.

Q: You’ve been Republicans for most of your voting lives. Who’s voting for James Talarico? Republican moms: *all raise their hands* “I like him. I want a middle school teacher who’s like, hey, this is broken. Somebody needs to fix it. Why not me?”

James Talarico on Texas officially banning THC: “Texans aren’t going to stop smoking weed and eating edibles because politicians in Austin say so. We are now telling full-grown adults how to live their lives. This is the nanny state at its worst; this is big government at its worst."

The Big Ugly Bill took food out of the mouths of hungry children — all so billionaires could get another tax break. But when politicians fail us, Texans show up for each other. Our campaign volunteered at a food pantry in West Dallas — because that’s what Texans do.

James Talarico: Ken Paxton has not accepted any of these debates yet. When I get tough questions, I answer them. When Ken Paxton gets tough questions, he runs away. I've challenged Ken Paxton to these 3 televised debates. The networks have already set the dates and the times and the locations.

James Talarico: Everywhere I go, I hear about the struggles to afford the basics. Texans are drowning. And it’s because for 50 years, puppet politicians like Ken Paxton have been rigging this economy in favor of their mega donors at our expense. Trickle down economics is not a theory, it is theft.

BREAKING: James Talarico challenges Ken Paxton to three televised debates. “Ken Paxton’s handlers claim he’s willing to debate, but every time a reporter asks a question, he literally runs away. We’ll see if Ken Paxton has the courage to show up, or if he’ll run away like usual.”

Childcare is now more expensive than college. In the Legislature, I passed a bill to cut property taxes for childcare centers, allowing small businesses like Green Space Nature Preschool to cut costs for working families. In the Senate, I’ll keep fighting for our tiny Texans. 🌱

Army Pvt. Isabella Gonzales was killed by an Iranian strike in Jordan — she was just 19 years old. Our gratitude for her service should not be mistaken for acceptance of her death. We should not be sending our brave men and women like Isabella to die in another forever war.

Ken Paxton panics and refuses to answer questions from reporters: Q: James Talarico is calling you out for owning 15 homes on a government salary, can you respond? Paxton: *dodges question* Q: Will you answer a question about your alleged voter fraud? Handler: We’re going to get out of here
