I'm relieved to learn that the Prime Minister has persuaded China to cut tariffs from 10% to 5% for the Scotch Whisky industry - worth £250 million over the next 5 years. Scrutiny in politics is necessary - but when you get something you asked for, gratitude never goes amiss.

I am saddened to hear of the untimely death of Jim Wallace. I knew him well, and amongst his many sterling qualities, there were two that shone forth - his kindness and loyalty. He will be deeply missed.

Today is #HolocaustMemorialDay I was proud to sign the Book of Commitment, honouring those murdered. I thought of my cousin - a Red Cross nurse who entered Bergen-Belsen in 1945 and witnessed the horrors. We must recommit to building a brighter future all over the world.

The UK Government have shown that they are ready to support clean energy and skilled work across the UK. However, the SNP are intent on leaving us behind by blocking all proposals for new nuclear energy in Scotland. They are simply refusing investment and wasting money.
