Back to my desk soon but first, a trip to the ancient and very fancy city of Dresden. 🇩🇪 Fantastic trip but oh boy I’m looking forward to sub 30 temperatures (and irn bru)

Me, a very brave outdoors person, moments before I got in the water, a fish touched my leg and I reacted like Jaws himself had come for me. I stay on land now. Nature is for looking, not touching.

Behold, the world’s most exhausted human who has been travelling for 10 hours and still isn’t home. 3.15am not too much further. Been on rail replacement Preston to Glasgow.

An excellent day podcasting. I’m presenting a new series due later this year. Hopefully can tell you about it soon. But there is a pretty big clue here. There is also something about me that is related to the topic. But that’s more obscure 🤔

Watching Outlander. Some of it I like, some of it I don’t. I wanted it to become more medical drama than faffing about arguing and flirting. She’s really terrible at trying to get home…

Eek there is still plenty of tickets left for the opening ceremony of the commonwealth games next week…. When Glasgow hosted in 2014 the opening sold out 8 months in advance and was in a venue three times as large 😬

A challenging but powerful day Spent today with @mndassoc.bsky.social helping reseachers get ready to share their work with people living with this condition Challenging as research moves fast, but the disease can move faster & some of the audience may not be able to benefit from future work

A room full of people listening to a panel of 3 people. One of the panel uses a motorised wheelchair and voice assist computer.

A thing I am terrible at - asking people social questions. I tend to only ask things when I require an answer which makes me seem rude, but it’s actually me being polite because I don’t want people to feel obligated to answer. 🙃 (It’s been a long day on trains)

I love doing convention panels. So many people came up to me after to say how much they like my hosting, which is lovely 🥰 The guests are particularly complimentary. One guest (not pictured) refused to go on unless I was hosting - which just makes me wonder how bad things normally go 😂

Small post to say thank you. I’ve spent most of the past week adding workshops to my diary for the 26/27 academic year and I feel so incredibly lucky to do what I love - improving the reach, openness & impact of research. I get to do this because amazing people believe in me & my work - thank you 🥰
